It is a 1972 SG Deluxe which where produced for about two years. And those pickups for only one year.

Its my babe :D and I love it

Very cool! Some don't particularly care for the Norlin era SG's but my walnut '78 is an absolutely amazing guitar. Light as a feather, super-slim neck and those Tar Back pups SCREAM!

Looks like my registration was lost as well, Oh well Good ole Google to the rescue to find my post in this thread and copy/paste it :-)

Here's mine that I just recently took to Guitar Center to trade for a PRS Santana Edition. First guy said not to do it, but then after he took it into his managers office they said they could order one in the color I wanted. (Around 5k value)

I never really liked playing this guitar (Crazy Huh, 18th Birthday Present) and really enjoy playing my MIM Strat that I bought @ the local swapmeet for 75 bucks.

Thing is I don't know what has been done to this guitar as there's a hole under the bridge and an extra switch that changes the tone.

GC said its probably from a floating tremolo? But I don't see that being possible. The electronics don't look all jacked up either or they were all done @ the same period and left alone after changing the pickup.

I Email'd Gibson some time ago about the serial # and they said its between 63 and 65. (UPDATE: I checked out the Pots and they're dated 67)

What do you guys think? Can anyone spot the obvious reasons for the hole under the strings?

Cover is from a Cheap Epiphone that i put on just to cover up the hole.

Here's a photo with the guard pulled away. Any Ideas of what the extra hole is for.. Custom or tweeker customized?

And for those who like Props holding their guitars :-)

Jojo... That is badass.

That setup looks like it's ready to just blow my mind.

If I could step into that picture I would immediately crank that up and just blast some black sabbath.

Then I'd come back down to reality and play my regular stuff :-s

Thank you !! Tht's pretty much what I do, play some loud Sabbathy stuff :)

Here is mine: a 1967 SG Melodymaker with repaired headcreack (that's why the decall is'nt original anymore) and full respray, Gibson Burstbucker III instead of the original single coil en 70's Gibson Deluxe tuners instead off the original strip tuners, a Schaller stud with sadles instead off the original wraparound bridge and a B5 instead off the original Vibrola.

For those who concern..... I kept the original parts.

+1

Have you played it yet ?

Not even a scratch on the pickguard ...

It looks almost like a mirror finish' date=' really stunning.

It is very clean but there are signs of light wear here and there if

you looked in person. The pick guard has lots of fine scratches...

you can see a haze on the guard in one of the pics.

Owned her about 6 months.... I play this guitar several hours a week...

More than my 3 others... all LP's

One nice thing about having several guitars is if you rotate them around no one guitar

gets all the wear.

Also I don't play out these days... No drunk band mates to run into.
