bullet22
I'm suspicious of the 'outline' of Gibson logo - and the word "model" seems a little mis-aligned. Any thoughts..?
Spot
More pictures of this guitar please.....
Aaresz
I would agree that both of those items seem suspicious. In addition, I own an LP standard and it has a plain truss rod cover, though some older standards did not. I also believe Epiphones have this type. TheLiveSoundGuy
More pictures would help. Also, it could be just the camera angle, but it looks to me like the right page of the "open book" top of the headstock, dips just a little lower then the left page. And another thing is it looks like the stems on the left hand tuners are longer then the right side. Again it could just be the camera angle. matiac
It's real. Mine's the same way, and Gibson verified the S.N. on mine. Kinda looks like overspray at the inlay, like mine. Although I did notice the decals a little askew, hmm...go over to custom subforum, and have admin run the number for ya, they did for me, mine checked out ok. FennRx
the TRC is fine. the apparently crappy Logo and "model" graphic bother me. And it does appear that the top of the headstock is lopsided, but again, this may just be a camera angle.
AXE®
The very noticible outline around the logo itself is what would concern me . I took a VERY bright light and looked at my lesters and there are none . The "L" looks too close to the nut also.
epinder
My LP Standard head stock looks the same. I bought mine 12 years ago from a Gibson dealer, so I'm going to assume mine is not fake. Here is a photo:

I'm thinkin' the decal was misplaced, and it got by their Q.C., I've seen worse stuff get by them.
AXE®
Is it a lefty ? Cuz I've never seen Les's name upside down before ?
RichCI
It'd have to be a lefty considering the way it's strung. Or else, maybe he's **** Dale posting under an assumed name after deciding to go righty.
epinder
Yeah, it's definitely a lefty. I just wish I could play like **** Dale!! In reality, I don't remember the headstock looking this way in '96. So, I'm thinking (hoping) that it's aging nicely.
epinder
Is it a lefty ? Cuz I've never seen Les's name upside down before ? That's funny, about a week ago I posted a photo of my left handed '57 RI Goldtop and Les is upside down on that one. Someone questioned that one too. And Tim A; good way to get the heart going on a Monday morning.

guitarrist
Looks authentic to me at first glance... Can you upload more photos of your guitar? Did you get it on eBay? bullet22
False alarm... I am sure it is authentic now. My '05 classic has the same effect around the logo at certain light angles. Here is another pic of this beautiful guitar.
