BigSmokeBass
Sorry BSB - no YouTube videos, but that may be a good thing! Haha don't put yourself down, I've seen lots of crap on YouTube, a little noodle on a bass never looked bad either (unless your channel is universalrenote <_<) I imagine with the double cut it feels a lot nicer in the upper regions than the standard LP BSB
Kelvinator
I imagine with the double cut it feels a lot nicer in the upper regions than the standard LP BSB The action is very close to the LP Std. - both are very good. Even though I rarely need 24 frets, I do like having the option. The DC is very accessible all the way up. The old Aria Pro II's that I have are 32" scale with 22 frets, that works well too. I really enjoy playing those 32's!
ramone57
It's an '06. The only difference is the Double Cut doesn't have a $ on the truss rod cover - that's it. I think the Money bass (silly name, imo) has a walnut tone plate sandwiched in the body? I know some of them do and some don't, but can't remember the specifics. either way, I'd love one to come live with me, especially the root beer. My DC doesn't have any walnut in it; all mahogany with an AA flame maple top. I read (another forum) that the name was changed to "Money Bass" to go with "Casino " guitars. I don't know if that's true, but it kinda makes "cents"... Or does it? I know there's an Epiphone Casino, but did they ever reissue the Gibson during the Money Bass production? Kelvinator
2012 Fender Am. Std. Precision / Candy Cola / Maple Fretboard New P Bass & head gsg?
MrNylon
Hey Kelvinator. Yeah, the Precision through the TC Electronic head is great. The head can be used without a cab. At 8.8 pounds it's very easy to unplug from the Ampeg, and take to another part of the house with phones if needed. The G3 70's tribute had the sound like this Precision, but the edges of the frets were very high, and sharp too.
MrNylon
Back to the SG Std. The ETB92S Nylon strings. The SG sounds great through my amp setup.

Kaiser Bill
Thanks very much. I purchased it in '88 in San Jacinto Ca. The guy I bought it from was badgered into selling it to me by his wife. He was a bass player back in the 50s...hadn't touched it in years. He had loaned it to his "tweaker" brother who promptly took all the finish off because he thought it was "EVIL". Consequently I bought it and a '64 Bassman Amp for a song. I painted it BBQ black in '92 and added the airbrush swirls three years ago. I know its not worth much, but it more than paid for itself the first week I played it. I had a long list of players that wanted the amp, and even one guy that wanted to buy the bass case. This amp sounds absolutely killer with any one of my LPs going through it. There is something about tubes and Humbuckers. The combo is great. Lefty Bass
Very nice Lefty Bass. What MB Marshall amp are you using? I dont recall the model # but its 100 watts, 1-15", 2 channels(tube and SS). I dig it, sounds great. That one stays at the house, I use it when I'm subbing, one-offs, etc. My main amp is an Ampeg B100R, it stays with the band's gear. MrNylon
I used some MB Marshall cabs, and a MB450H head. The heads had heating issues. I wound up using the TC Electronics RH450 head, and the Ampeg SVT-410HLF cab.
MrNylon
Kaiser Bill; Wow, that's a Real Bassman. It's been a while since I've seen the real deal.
Kaiser Bill
Thanks very much... I had a fellow in Cleveland that was REALLY interested in buying it. I would have even delivered it to him to save him shipping costs...at the last second he backed out. His loss.
