Gary Moore sucks!

[thumbup]

Just kidding, he's actually one of my favorite players, I think he has more than just the best vibrato, he also has some of the best riffs, great sustain and tone, and I dare anyone to name 1 player of the same genre who plays with equal or more soul.

Assuming that you mean blues, blues-rock or hard rock?

Paul Kossoff

Rory Gallagher

Peter Green

Jim McCarty

Mark Farner

Kim Simmonds

etc., etc., etc.

It's not so hard to do.

Don't hold the fact that some of them are dead against them.

Gary Moore's damn good, though. [thumbup]:-k

'Best' vibrato can't be discussed, but you can discuss the longest vibrato, the fattest vibrato, the ...

And if you don't define 'business' more clearly than I'd guess ... you'd be talking heavy blues stuff, heavy rock ...

Best sounding vibrato in blues rock [biggrin] Gary Moore is hard too beat, together with Luther Allison's and Buddy Guy.

In jazz, any softer music piece of Philip Catherine has a vibrato sound that's quite unique. Wayne Krantz plays more jazz fusion but has a very melodic style with a tremendous vibrato.

In grunge rock there's no better vibrato than Jerry Cantrell's!

I'm not saying Johnson has the best vibrato. The argument over who's best is more suited for 8th graders, but the first thing I notice about guitarists is the vibrato, and Moore's does nothing for me. Who impresses me?

Mick Ralphs

Robin Trower

Brian May

Jimmy Page

Eric Johnson

Ritchie Blackmore

BB King

Albert King

Freddie King

Otis Rush

Angus Young??....why did you have to suck the joy out of this thread? #-o

Seriously, have a good listen to that awesome vibrato. It might not be as subtle as other mentions in this thread, but that wasn't really what we were after, was it? O:)
