Guitar Chico
I had always thought that I was an sg guy but today I just played an epi LP studio and a dot. Man I love the tone and feel of the dot but the studio also great. I won't vote because I am undecided as of yet... GC

PP_CS336
Hmm! That is a hard choice. :D I have both an Epi Les Paul Standard and Sheraton II (the latter is ES-335 like except more embellished on the fretboard and headstock). Even though I love Les Paul's, I'd have to say the shape and ease of playability of my Sheraton would make me lean more toward the 335 Dot style. Charles Obscure
It depends on the sound you're looking for, really. LP = Great tone, weighs kinda heavy (IMHO), sounds like a solid body. Dot = Great tone, weight is right, sounds like a semi-hollow body. Two different animals there. I like the Dot, myself.
snookelputz
Truly, you need both. And a Strat and a Tele.
Just Strum
DOT: most versatile guitar offered by Epi and one of the most versatile styles in the industry. IMHO, but I'm right:d/

Dennis G
Hmmm.... I guess I made my choice... I vote dot. GC You won't regret it. I've got an Gibby LP and Dot and recently upgraded the Dot's pickups, switches, wiring, etc. and does the Dot rock now!!! Woohoo! Even before though, it held it's own and is a very versatile guitar, and much easier to play when you get above the 12th fret as well. Not to mention that it's also a *****in' looking axe. JefferySmith
Not even a race. Why is it so close? Life could go on without an LP. But electric guitar music without a 335? You've got to be kidding.

Dennis G
Only one choice left to make: Cherry or Blond? GC You're on your own there bud. Everytime I see a Cherry I wish I'd bought that until I look at my Blond, then "not so much". Can't go wrong either way though.

Mugatu
I like the dot. If you're buying new, then I'd go for the blond. I'm not a big fan of the newer cherry... the one from some years back was nicer.
