sparky scott 29
I am curious. How many of you guys either leave the factory stickers on the guitar that came with it, put on a different sticker , or take off all stickers, and leave it plain?? Just thought it would be a interesting subject to see the results of.
MrNylon
I make sure it's ok, then the protective film comes off pickguard.
duane v
The stickers inside of my Epi JL Rev Casino do bother me a little. I've always felt that Gibson could have positioned them away from the f-holes so that they wouldn't be seen.
Big Bill
For some reason I am afraid to take them off. The sticker on the black bowl of my Applause drives me nuts.
DennisMiller
I take all the stickers off. I've often wondered why people leave the little gold stickers on camera equipment. They're not like bonds. They don't increase in value with age.
Artie Owl
I see this with cell phones all the time, people leave the factory packing plastic on their devices, and small dust and dirt particles get underneath the plastic, and pressure causes it to press against the screen making swirls and spirals on the screen that don't come off. It's horrible especially when people have the expectation that the packing plastic actually protects it (it doesn't).

DennisMiller
Nice Tele Rocky... Â I don't mind people adding stickers to their guitars if they want to. That's their choice, though at 61 years old, it's not much of a habit I see practiced in my age group. Just a generational thing I guess. I thought they were referring to the stockers that come on our guitars... Made in USA, Inspected by #47... that sort of thing.
sparky scott 29
I don't know why, but I usually leave the factory stickers on my guitars when I buy a new one foe some reason.I hope down the road it don't stick too much or hurt the finish.. swleary
I kept the "Plex'd" sticker on my Traditional, however I did make sure it was straight. If it wasn't straight I would have taken it back to the store..hehe kidding
DennisMiller
A few minutes ago, I ordered a new LP Studio, red satin finish. Having never talked so much about stickers before, I'll be interested to see how many it arrives with and whether I want to take them off or leave them on. Dub-T-123
I don't think Gibson USA guitars even include the wrench in the case candy anymore. I could be wrong. Â My Tele came with a whammy bar. I guess Fender just puts the same candy in all the cases. Maybe it's cheaper that way or something.
DennisMiller
When I first moved back to Miami from 6 years living in Jamaica, I bought a terrible car, a Ford Fairmont. My Jamaican father-in-law used to tease me in a good natured way about how bad American auto makers had become. (His family owned the Toyota dealership for Jamaica) One day, I noticed a little plaque on the door jam that said the car was made in Canada, A MEMBER OF THE BRITISH COMMONWEALTH, JUST LIKE JAMAICA!!!!!! Â I don't think we've laughed so hard at anything since then. Â I know around the middle of the week, I'm going to receive a hell of a good guitar. I had been thinking about an Epi LP, not that they are bad by any means, but I feel good that I bought the Gibson LP instead. We don' need no steeekin' steeekers! damian
FOR GUITAREST; Overheard at the courthouse the other day, " I, Ban Ez, do solomly swear to shred. " FOR DENNISMILLER; Gibson Studio Les Pauls don't come with stickers, it's not cost effective. If you want stickers on a Les Paul, you gotta pay $1200.00 or more to get official stickers on a Les Paul. You could put bootleg stickers on your Studio, but that wouldn't be authentic, and it's value would drop.

Rocky4
I agree, luv the tele and the smiley is great... Â It's a Warmoth body, didn't turn out to bad for spray can lacquer in my garage.
Thundergod
I'm not a fan of stickers, not in guitars, not in cars, not in anything. But that's what I like, some people (you included) might like something else, I have a friend who has stickers on every guitar he owns, one of them is so bad you cannot see the original finish anymore, and that's his favorite guitar. Â BUT, if you got yourself a brand new gibson, you should leave the pickup stickers on, they are responsible for 50% of the pickup tone and they give instant mojo. Cataplasm
Remove all factory stickers, pickguards (they hide the beautiful arch top), all plastic protective film, any unused volume or tone knob's, move switshes to where they best suit you. Do apply the stickers or artwork of your choosing. Where you see fit. OH, Don,t forget to remove those funny looking pickup shielding covers and expose those coils. DennisMiller
Rocky - I'd say it looks a heck of a lot better than "not bad"... I've done some guitar finishing in a spray booth we used to have at our furniture business and even with professional equipment and years of learning technique, it's still nothing to be thought of as easy. Great job... Â As for stickers on guitars, I may have to rethink my position. Considering my age, I could get stickers for Viagra and the AARP... How would THAT be? DennisMiller
If you compare the girl and the guitar, in the long run, the guitar is cheaper.
