gearbasher
It's that time of the year. I had to dig in my closet to get to the acoustics I occasionally play, so I can charge up their humidifiers. While I was at it, I pulled out my two Les Paul Classics. I know it's a sin. So, no lectures, please. I never play them. I'm an acoustic man through and through. The cherryburst (Shirley) is a '94 and she still has her hang tags on. The honeyburst (Aimee) is a '95. If I have 2hrs. total play time on both of them combined, I'd say that's a lot. Yes, it's a sin. I should sell them so someone can really enjoy them. But, they are just too pretty. Kinda like Throphy Wives...Useless to me...just eye candy. In my defense, I bought the cherryburst because I wanted to go electric, but it just didn't feel right. As far as the honeyburst, I was at (a now defunct) mom and pop music store that I always hung out at, and when the honeyburst came in, I told them my brother might be interested. They insisted I take it home and, if he wants it, bring the money...if not, bring the guitar back. He didn't want it. I couldn't resist. So, I bought it. Enjoy the pics. Tim Plains
gearbasher, those are both gorgeous! That's awesome and a shame at the same time... May I ask what you paid for them back then...and did you loosen the stings before storing them? I wonder how the neck is after 13 - 14 years of just sitting there... bobv
Reminds me of watching Antique's Roadshow when they say there's value to a toy that's still in its original box and has never been played - I can't help thinking that it's sad that a toy hasn't been played with. As far as what I paid, I have the original receipts in another location. A number of instruments have passed through my hands over the years, so it's a blur. The only thing I personally don't like are the green inlays. The inlays aren't that green. In person they look a little more yellowish.
lpdeluxe
Those are pretty guitars, but how can you know their value unless you play them? No offense, but I have nine guitars and basses, and they all get played as much as possible. The ones I don't play go into the hands of those who do.
