Guest Farnsbarns
Got chatting to the owner of the local guitar shop over in East Grinstead. I don't go in there often, just because I don't go to east Grinstead very often but also because it's small and 99% of their stuff is aimed at the beginner market. I noticed a strange oblong guitar on the wall with an old American licence plate for the front. I asked about it and was told they're making them to order and that a local cabinet maker has started doing then. Then he told me he does the electrics because the cabinet maker has no knowledge. I got talking about my amps and how I enjoy the electrical work and not the cabinet making. Then said cabinet maker walked in and I was introduced. All of a sudden the conversation became very businessy and we started to think of all sorts of ways we could all work together. Long story short, I'll be on call for any amp faults or electrical faults and will help them if I have the time, the cabinet maker wants to talk about building high end amps and the shop might be interested in selling them. All I wanted was some fret board oil.

pippy
Typical. No-one. NO-ONE has asked after the health of Farns' fret board. DID YOU GET THE OIL? Seriously; Immesurably happy for you if this thing takes off! I'll be requiring details. Beers soon? Philip.
deeman
All I wanted was some fret board oil. Ha! Awesome! If you just ordered the oil online this never would have happened. SmokeyGhost
Thumbs up on that outcome. It was a slight variation on what happens when I walk into a GC for some minor goods such as strings. I tend to walk out with something like a Fender Golden 50's 1951 Heavy Relic Telecaster and a Mesa/Boogie F-50 head. Then I have to go back because I forgot to get the bloody strings. quapman
That's cool man! Maybe Rabs can demo his geets through your circuits at the show he's attending. Farnstronics meets Rabswood. Maybe not. Kinda sounds like a porno flick. Good luck Farns. Hope you do well with it.

Tman
First order Charles: 50 Watt, Class A/B, 6L6, Pentode (don't care for multilinear), Blackface circuit essentially, iron man attenuator (see Tone King, Mark Bartel, great stuff), single 12, lightest open back cabinet available (really sick and tired of heavy stuff - my 56 y/o back looks like a 76 y/o). You choose the rest based on your experience. Not sure about the 50 watt part but why not?
