  1. Thanks for the update. Keep staying positive. P.S. keep staying.....is that redundant?
  2. Got in late last night from a double header. Played as a trio with my buddies Steve and Quinny at a nice dock bar in Kent Island. Great crowd and show. Watched the Os win as we played. 😎 We played til 7 and packed up and were playing The Rams Head with a full band by 8. For Rams Head, we added a drummer, bass player and dude named Elvin on guitar. No rehearsals at all for us. Elvin arrived halfway though the first set with a bad *** Dr Z amp and his modded Tele. He plugged in and we went right into Folsom Prison Blues, but he forgot we were all tuned down a half step. 😦We quickly realized something was wrong, so the rest of us just played that one in F. He tuned down after that and we continued to rip it up all night, to a very small crowd. That part was a shame. I can't overstate how good this guy Elvin is. He recently played the Lincoln Center in NY with The King Of Latin Soul , Joe Bataan. Then he comes down to play an empty show with a hack like me. But we had a great time playing. Mainly jammed and improvised all night. It's amazing to play with these great musicians, who are above my level.
  3. Best to you John. Hope you're playing some more gigs soon.
  4. The US certainly wasn't "woke" in 1941.
  5. When my buddy Steve and I play acoustic duo show ( and also when we add more people and play as a full band) one of the songs we always do in the last set is You Can't Always Get What You Want. To take up time, I always do an improv jam over the C and F chords. A few years ago I somehow spontaneously came up with a way to fit the Jessica riff in there. Of course it's not in the same key and it's a slowed down version but it works. It's become a "thing" in our set now, where I will do an extended jam in the style of Dickey and eventually come back to You Can't Always Get What You Want I'm sure we will extend that jam even further at tomorrow nights gig.
  6. I heard about this from one band mate tonight while I was at practice with my other band. He was one of my favorites, and I definitely cop a lot of his style in my own playing. Of course nowhere near his level. RIP

RIP. He was one of my favorites.
  8. That a good song. I remember jamming with my buddy on that song back in the late 80s/early 90s.
  9. Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving With a Pict - Pink Floyd
  10. Like everyone else here, I'm sorry for your loss. I know, in the scheme of things, they don't compare. But that is a beautiful guitar you have. Hopefully you will have a happy memory every time you play it..
  11. These days, I just use a Morley AFX-1 Analog Multi Effects for all my gigs. I'm too lazy to hook pedals up at home. I also use a Morley ABY pedal in order to switch between 2 guitars and a Peterson StobosStomp Mini for tuning.
  12. Welcome back. Sorry to hear about your dad.
  13. I was in a band for about 10 years called Eclipse. Would have been cool to get a gig that day if we were still a band. 😎 Now there's another local band with that name and they are pretty much a Journey cover band.
