  1. They are playing a small little place. I am meeting my best friend there and we are spending a few days and seeing a show, gonna drink Tennessee whiskey and trying not to get arrested. A week or so ago I rocked Gretchen Goes To Nebraska and Dogman to get familiar with the songs I haven't heard in ages. My buddy says they usually don't leave Texas that much.
  2. Not sure if I should be happy or sad for you. If you get work from them that's a plus, but I own a guitar that is nicer than usually anything they have hanging on the wall in the acoustic room. Can't wait to be in Knoxville next month for the King's X concert.
  3. Lots are passing the guitarist for Head East, Mike Somerville passed a few days back. Lyle Mays who played piano for Pat Metheney passed last week too.
  4. What if they didn't just happen to have the same NOS model lying around. Would they scrounge up a ran over Firebird X for you?
  5. They have more light in the plant now so they can see better.
  6. That second one ain't cheap.
  7. It may be Lenny K's sig not sure, but its and Epi not a Gibson.
  8. I like Levy's straps. Use a Grolsch grommet from a bottle of beer if you think it will come off. No mods needed. Buy beer and its a win win situation. If you like and drink beer.
  9. We don't want that trash in the USA.
  10. I could look at these all day. We need a few more posts of them.
  11. My wife goes down more than me as I still work in Hampton, VA. I usually don't go down unless its a 3 day weekend. Its a 5 hour drive from the house in Newport Newst to LR. We go to Crab Catchers, International Cafe, Moto's (those are the main spots my wife likes, among a few select others). My wife's father was best friends with the owner of International on Main Street. So we go every time we are down there. I wish more bands would come to House Of Blues, but it is an older folks place and a golf mecca. I'm 53 and my wife is 51. My wife knows the area well, as her Dad lived there for many years. I only started going down two years ago after he passed away and we inherited the house. The times I've been there and its tourist season gets on my nerves, but in the near future I'm gonna have to get used to it. My wife has no desire to go on the gambling boats and I did 23 years Navy and Coast Guard, so fuk ships and boats. Worked on them, lived on them, fixed em. Forget em. I like guitars. And unless I'm in a guitar store (I'll play an electric) I only own acoustics. No fuss. Tune, capo if needed, no amp, no worrying about what pedal to stomp on, amp setting, or hearing "its too loud". Next time I come down I'll PM you and we can meet up at GC.
  12. The Kinks. The great forgotten Brit Invasion band. Man when they were good they were so damn good. They did love to put out a concept album. Muswell, Misfits and Sleepwalker were dy-no-mite albums.
  13. Now Gibson is gonna reissue them and jack up the price 3k, and you'll get a gig bag.
  14. Blurry is the new clear. It's that Rolling Stones Between The Buttons with Vaseline on the lens trick.
  15. I could look at those fake LP's all day long. What junk. Just don't cry for me.
  16. I dumped last one after the infamous Mark video. Virginia is humid but not as humid as Hawaii. Lived there for a year and a half. Had fun and enjoyed being called a Haole. Oh well at least milk isn't $5 a gallon where I live.
  17. Where are they from? I am sure there is a reason they are not at hit over here. We got top shelf makers over here in the US like Gibson, Fender, Martin, and then uber boutique stuff. I would even part together a Warmoth before getting something form overseas I've never heard of.
  18. I know the area a little, our subdivision is by the Post Office and Church on 17.
  19. Cool. Me and my wife have a house we inherited (which is paid off) in Little River and when we sell the house in VA we are moving down there permanently.
  20. I think the black looks bad @ss, the massive double pickguard is overkill, and the star inlay are tight. I'm jonesing for a maple guitar. Owed a Guild JF-30 and did nothing for me. Would love a Dove or the smaller J-180 with out 2 football feilds worth of pickguard.
  21. I played one in the Myrtle Beach, GC. They are at a great price for an American made guitar. Congrats. It's nice to see Gibson just don't have guitars at nothing but $2k+. And 'Merican.
  22. Pete is one of the greatest chord bashers ever.
  23. I owned a Guild maple bodied guitar. It was nice but I rarely played it and I sold it
