It won't ever stop... just like the sustain on that LP? 😁

A Horse With No Name, America 1971

Yep. And they had quite a few good songs on their first and second albums. 👍 -
Get a good leather strap, at least 3 inches wide, with no buckles and metal parts. She should always use it when playing, even when sitting down. And then just learn songs and practice a lot. If she likes to sing, that's even better. These guitars are beautiful and sound great, plus feel natural to the hands. If your daughter likes music, she will love playing it.

I have Schallers on my ES-335, and didn't notice any "contact" when sitting or standing.

Beautiful guitar and it's even more beautiful after restoration. I am not a fan of "relic marks" on guitars, even if they are of natural causes. It should look like new, but sound like Heaven itself.👍

May I ask what model Gibson that is? (I have no idea of what kind of Spruce that is. I am no expert, but looks beautiful enough to me.)

I am noticing this "submission" on an ES-335, very stiff and hard-sounding at first. The more I play, the better the sound seems to get. My thinking was, it is all psychological and just having to learn to listen to it properly. But on an LP Standard, the sound seemed super great immediately the first time I played it. (Both were new guitars with a great initial setup.)

Great topic Title. I was 100% sure, when entering this debate, that it'll be about a new PEDAL Already had some pre-prepared statements... 😄 I have a Gravity, but not the kind on the photo. This is really interesting, because I have found out in the last few years, that every kind of pick sounds, feels and plays differently, and so much more on different guitars. One has to actually try them out in all scenarios in the never-ending quest for great sounds.

What's the point of this? I clicked the (life-sized) Tobacco Burst Firebird - and it's "Out of Stock". 😒

Confession is therapy enough. 👍

Les Paul Standard Bridge Pickup Ideas?
OrdinaryNimda replied to HamburgerShins's topic in The Gibson Lounge
So, basically a hotter pickup? -
Who will be the first guitar-maker, to make guitars that change from aloha-sunburst to bozeman-blue, from one song to the next? 😁

Is this a five-dollar joke?

2023 should be a great year for Gibson Acoustic Guitars!
OrdinaryNimda replied to Larsongs's topic in The Gibson Lounge
It's a "passive" chip, like on old credit cards, where it just bounces back some code (e.g. serial number), which is then accessible in their database. So no big deal in any case (except for ruining those slabs of precious wood). I think it's all #bs. 😁 -
Danvill Rob: I am logged on to Facebook - and it gives me a blank page.

I read it too. There was a link somewhere and the date was recent. So it is not "fake news" in any way or form. For a manufacturer it's the proper thing to do, to inform their customers of any policy change. So it's a WIN-WIN for everybody. -
And just some minutes ago, the second series of THE PROCESS has begun on YouTube, showing how guitars are made in Bozeman, Montana. Wild coincidence, or 2023 coming for great acoustic guitars?

Gibson Contribution To War Effort In World War Two...
OrdinaryNimda replied to Murph's topic in The Gibson Lounge
Do they use maple for ice-hockey sticks? It might be useful for skids, too. -
Never saw these guys before. Personally I am not a big fan of the music "style"... However it is quickly apparent, that they are top-tier as guitarists, technically & artistically! 👍

I presume, that it is not Richlite that you are talking about here, but some cheaper way to make lower end fretboards. Out of curiosity, I Googled Richlite, and it is made from "high quality paper with resin": https://www.richlite.com/whatisrichlite -

Big applause for Gibson, looks like quite a few items made. The airplane skids were probably mahogany or maple? -

The correct anwser is "because it's iconic". Never had a Martin (or acoustic for that matter), but I know its sound from countless songs. No custom shop ambitions, just a normal set of guitars. This music is sheer enlightenment! 😄 -

Until then a Les Paul Standard (check), LP Tribute Special (check), ES-335 (check)... still in line there's a J45, and a SG 61 Standard. (Also a Fender Tele and a G&L Asat Special). I view the Martin D28 as a luxury! 😁
