  1. Of course. My thinking was that it might get too muddy, so that's why they don't do it. I was wrong here, they do make them!
  2. Do I see "Alnico II" on both? I thought those go up to like 5K max!
  3. I thought only Mike Oldfield plays the mandolin.😂 Joking aside, it's just another sort of guitar, which is longing to be played on. Go for it!
  4. Yes, that's true, agree 100%. I'm just saying they're doing a might good job doing it. Probably the only way... And that's on top of the #covid19 situation.
  5. One thing is true, we can trust the KKR guys to do what's best for Gibson. They saved the name, the process and the factory (two?), what's left is pure gold. Trust is the word!
  6. My estimation is this: There's a huge shortage of quality guitars and all pertaining equipment in the market (Gibson, Fender and all other names!) due to the stupid #covid19 pandemic. It will take years for the supply to stabilize. So, they did the right thing and oriented their efforts towards the products which are in highest demand and pay the best. That is pure math and any responsible entrepreneur will think and act that way. This brings long-term stability to the company, not just short-term profit. Good for Gibson and everyone else, including customers. Cheaper items will come back sooner or later, maybe 2 years down the road. (I am in Europe, there are almost no new guitars to be found, and it's been almost a year, since I ordered an ES-335 Satin ... still waiting for a miracle, like a beached dolphin, LOL).
  7. This is a really great question. Besides, can anyone DEFINE the concept of music (or any art, for that matter)? If we try to define music as an art of expressing oneself (to self and others)... then all beings have this, including animals. Some have this gift very wildly evolved (i.e. Blackmore in the seventies), and others somewhat more subtle (like laughing dolphins in a seaworld park). But it's all music; a natural way to express oneself! (EDIT: just found out this topic is almost as old as Beethoven's 7th symphony 🤯)
  8. This guitar looks so spectacular, that I had to click on the link... YEP, there is no pickup system. If one wants it amplified, an external mic has to be used. Simple, no drilling and the best possible natural sound.😎 (Drilling that precious wood is a travesty that should be sanctioned, Gitmo comes to mind. Of course it is just my subjective viewpoint and I am not going to war over this.)
  9. GEEEZAS, what a beautiful piece of poetry!! 😃 #345
  10. I would like to see an ES-335 from Gibson, just like the one I ordered last year in May. 😅
  11. Great review, the clean sustain is the magical part, I agree. And if it's even half as beautiful as the one on the pic, you've got a great guitar here! 😎
  12. Well, this came as a surprise. Personally, I welcome it. Gibson was missing this segment in its ecosystem. And building an amp factory from zero, is very expensive & time consuming. Mesa/Boogie, we have just one petition: please remain an extremely high-quality custom amp shop. Yeah! 😎 Here goes: Gibson Announces Acquisition of Mesa/Boogie
  13. I still think it's a spoof marketing campaign. Come on, hot oil dripping down on the graphics card while gaming?! 😆
  14. "Almost any blue guitar is a blue guitar", as they say. And a blue guitar is always an excellent choice! 😎
  15. Next astronomy event on the list: The Ides of March? 😅
  16. Great story, this is like some historic event!
  17. This sux, guitars are made to be played, not to rot away like this. 😩
  18. Same story as in the movie, with the green car...
  19. Seeing the fretboard while playing actually contributes to its feel to the fingers. This one looks alive and fresh and GORGEOUS!
  20. I hope they're not strong enough, to squeeze those 5 grand from our forum member!
  21. How did you wire those 3 pickups to the 3-way switch? I was always under the impression, that only USA-made Fenders are any good. Nice knowing the Mexican ones are not inferior as manufacturing goes (with a correctly shaped neck, properly cut and polished frets, etc)!
  22. Thumbs up for those 3 TELEs! 🤠
