  1. Bradster - if that doesn't get your juices flowing - nothing will !
  2. I've heard sound clips of J45Ws and they were Very Good! Congrats.
  3. I've got a wall hanger and a floor stand tripod. My only complaint is, on the latter, the guitar hangs at a slight angle. The lower bout only touches one of the back supports, because the piece that has the yoke on it is off by a slight angle. Somewhere between 5 an 10 degrees - not enough to cause a problem with functionality or safety. Just sort of irritating. Never a problem with the nitro.
  4. I would guess that they want to make sure th adhesive isn't so strong the pickguards can't be removed without damaging the finish or the wood. So, they may feel it's safer to have a 2% failure rate on the conservative side of an occasional corner lifting, as opposed to 2% of the faces being ruined.
  5. Since yours is new, it might work out. I’d heat it for less than a minute with a hairdryer on low to soften the adhesive. Should be easy to clamp since it’s right by the sound hole.
  6. KsD - Thank you sir!

  7. KSD, My fat fingers inadvertently typed a "-1" instead of a "+1" on an opening post by BlindBoyGrunt re. iPad Lyrics a few minutes ago.

Can you please delete or reverse that score?

Or tell me hoe to do it myself?

    Thanks! Jim (40yp)

  8. I believe they did do 'special projects' back then. Ren was the head at Bozeman. I'd hold on to that guitar if I were me.
  9. I can hammer all day like a Mexican Roofer after a hail storm using the barre on F, but I can see pull-offs would be impossible. Maybe that's why I don't do those. I only use my thumb for B7. But, as I've said countless times before - I'm a hacker, not a player! edit: OK, sometime D7 too !
  10. Good looking tab. Easy to follow. Thanks. One question - why suggested chord fingering on the "F" is to use the thumb on the first fret of the 6th string?
  11. You know you're getting old when some Granny's start looking hot !
  12. When you're the one yelling "Get Off My Lawn" instead of having it yelled at YOU!
  13. I lean mine up against the washer in the laundry room when it's on full speed rinse.
  14. I'd save the cash and just put a big old speaker next to your guitar and crank it up with some good music. You should feel the vibrations on the top of your guitar. Just don't play Rap on your speaker or your guitar will wind up sounding like cRap. And steer clear of banjo and bagpipe music. And The Wiggles. On second thought - just play the damn thing and let it improve in sound the way nature intended.
  15. Yep. My lift, you could barely slip a piece of paper under it. I tried to address it early on mostly out of fear ti would get worse. It never did. It never even 'grabs' at a polishing cloth, or anything. Love it and leave it!
  16. I had this problem from Day 1 with my SJ200. Small lift, you couldn't slip a credit card under - at the tip of the curve around 5 o'clock as your looking at it. I tried a thin piece of dbl sided tape generously mailed to me by a former forum member. It wasn't strong enough, although I weighted it down with a couple of books for a couple of days. I am assuming the pg has a natural, built in curl. Shortly thereafter, I stopped noticing it, or thinking about it. Hope yours isn't so big that - as you said - you could catch a shirt sleeve on it. I was reluctant to try to peel up a portion to get some glue in there, not wanting to worsen the lift. And, while certainly a matter of individual taste - I would never permanently remove the iconic p'guard. G'Luck.
  17. I don't pretend to know - but I've read in a few places that the idea of cutting a rectangle out of the side of a guitar to put in a tuner and/or controls for the onboard electronics may start getting phased out. I for one - would not want a hole cut in the side of any higher end guitar I owned.
  18. Sea Monkey disinters more zombies than The Walking Dead has walk-ons.
  19. I bet if you contact Bozeman directly, they'd be happy to share with you some tips on how to copy that pick guard. I'm sure it's not patent protected or anything.
  20. It's a PICKguard, not a BEERguard.
  21. The engraving and hand painting was on the front.
  22. Robert Earl Keen's "Feeling Good Again". But, in the middle of learning I took a break for an easier one - Merle Haggard's "Today, I Started Loving You Again". I tend to go in spurts.
  23. Frank, That was absolutely fantastic. Thanks for posting. It's great knowing such great music can be played on the humble J45. You've re-kindled a new respect in me for The Blues Player !
  24. I am in the same camp w/ Boyd. I'm not 'lazy'. I just look for the most efficient and effective course of action. And using cases would seriously get in the way of playtime. CIC7 - is this the first Fall season your SJ200 has seen? Did it happen last year? If I were me - given it's November in NY (lived there in my salad days) - I'd turn on the heat, even if only to take the chill off. That'll suck the excess humidity out of the air. I would try that before i had a luthier adjust it, only to turn on the heat a week later and have the face / bridge all some more. My guitars are like Old School hygrometers. The go flatter or sharper in direct relationship to what my little Walmart humidity meter reports. Always within the 40 - 60% range, but day to day changes not more than 5%. Never need more than 1/4 turn on the Grovers.
