  1. Yep. MBA. I’m flattered you remembered. But I did major in English first 2 years undergrad. Decided that degree wouldn’t have been worth a pitcher of warm spit. Who cares big you can conjugate verbs and quote Shakespeare? Peace, Out.
  2. Feel free to re-write any of my posts to suit your own taste.
  3. Sorry I mis-understood. Can't help you find some in Detroit.
  4. I'm guessing you must have some kind of a switch set to alert you immediately whenever I post something. "trying to find someone you can call a bunch of names .... you don't have to be a trash collector..." I'll have to look up 'irony' in the dictionary. The conversation between WtF and I had to do with the accuracy of definitions in dictionaries. do you have anything to contribute on that specifically, or just the usual ? Or, possibly just something on the original subject of marketing ?
  5. You make it too easy WtF.... the verb is related to the subject - which is singular "Definition". What the definition is...

  7. Here's a definition of 'Woman' for you in the Cambridge Dictionary. Line 2 : https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/woman Like Dylan sung: "You don't need a weatherman to tell which way the wind blows." You don't need a dictionary to tell you what the definition of some words is.
  8. I'm sometimes tempted to search out a '57 Chevy. Or a classic pick up truck ... then I remember all the trials and tribulations that existed with the mechanics of them. Plugs, points, condensers. Carburetors needing just the right mixture. Spark plug wiring that rotted. Mufflers that rusted out in 5 years. Not to mention bodies. Then I realize that as cool as they look - they are too 'high maintenance' for me. I'd rather be on the open road than bruising my knuckles on a frozen spark plug. Like W.C. Fields said - "Elephants are like women, I like to look at them but I wouldn't want to own one." Of course, acoustic guitars are different than cars.
  9. WOWSERS - just what I've been looking for. I really appreciate your help. (just in time for Christmas ! )
  10. I've got one of theirs- buffalo... really strong and supple. Love it. Good company. Native American company!
  11. Dave, I have a banjo strap like that. Sold by Deering Banjos. I agree - that style is the best I’ve ever found. Do you recall who made it?
  12. Free Picks are worth what you pay for them. Zilch. I'm not gonna use a 3 cent pick on a $3K guitar, when I can splurge and get a decent one. Sort of cheapens the brand when you sell someone a $60K car and 'give' them a $2 key fob. Or, like when they give you 'free roadside assistance' for a year. WTF would the marketing idjits bring up the subject of 'roadside assistance' and link it to their "German Engineering" road beast.
  13. I got a KLIQ air cell padded 3" for electric guitar and bass. Only $40 - not leather, but unlike the foam padded straps, it really works. I use it, however, for my super-heavy banjo. Had shoulder neck pain, but it 'fixed' it. For my guitars - I have had this https://www.anthologygearwear.com/products/leather-guitar-strap-shadowlands-tritone strap (actually a slightly different earlier cosmetic version) for 10 years, and it is also great. 3" and padded, top grain leather. Made in US. Realize you already ordered a Levy's - in case it doesn't float your boat. Or your guitar.
  14. I miss the good ol' days when we had more questions like " I live in xyz, does anyone here have the name of a luthier they d recommend in that area? Or should I ask the guitar techs at a a few of my local music stores who they recommend?"
  15. Guy's teenage son probably smoked while playing his guitar, while Dad was at work. Dad had Covid and couldn't smell it. Ever notice how, at Theme Parks - where they often have unfinished hardwood railings for the lines of people queuing up to get into the ride - those handrails are smooth, glossy, and look like fine furniture - from all the millions of hands that have hand rubbed popcorn oil, Hot dog mustard, spilled beer and fecal matter into them? Probably cigarette smoke too. One wonders if there is anything that would actually harm a fretboard?
  16. It was sarcasm, of course. A less coarse form of humor. Well played Val !
  17. Wow - thanks for that Sgt.Pepper! Dangerfield on Carson ... "Doctor told me I drink too much. My urine specimen had an olive in it." ! I would love to hear some of these irreverent comics talk about today's 'culture'. $180 wallet with a brass plate on the outside advertising how 'this fool and his money were soon parted'. The "Wokies" would try to shut them down - but Dangerfield, Don Rickles, Joan Rivers, George Carlin, Robin Williams - they'd chew them up and spit them out. Maybe that's part of the reason those of us raised on that kind of social commentary have a problem with todays cultural shifts: "Lifestyle" product lines, and the more hard to swallow pap being served up by corporations, media, et al.
  18. Yeah - the 'CaliGirl' case. Tan on the outside, pink inside. If you have a $4K guitar in it - no one is going to think you're a poser. Unless it's a Martin guitar in a Gibson case, of course.
  19. Enjoy your movie. Tell WhiteFang what it is at your own risk.
  20. The pink lining is a deal breaker. I guess I"m not secure enough in my toxic masculinity. Yes - good wallets are expensive. And they'll last decades. Top Grain, Full Grain, etc. Some 'leather' is just ground up 'leather' sawdust held together by glue. Some belts made of it fall apart faster than a wet newspaper. Harley-Davidson has a half dozen different types of wallets - and they range from $40 - $60. This $170 wallet doesn't reflect well on the guitar side of their business.
  21. Yeah - the NPR/PBS/Pravda budget is less than what the Department of Defense gets. That wasn't my point.
  22. Maybe we need Gibson to add a sub-forum for their "Lifestyle" products.
  23. Good Job. Nice fingerpicking on a J45! Very impressive performance !
