  1. As for the Nick Lucas. It was a Natural top version in the 90s , part of the Montana special series. Which had (the Gibson) on the peg head.
  2. was Mike Stanger the artist for this one? He did a few of this theme back on the 90s. They were well done.
  3. 2008 thread. Disregard my comment. 🙂
  4. If I had a chance to buy it.. I probably would enjoy playing it.. there a pretty good guitar.. but those tuners are better than what would of been on it.
  5. I think I read some where 1974 was the last time for the LG1. So the non black face headstock might be right. They did that on a few models J45 and 50 deluxe as well.
  6. That guitar looks refinished. Even on 70s gibsons the burst is darker.
  7. The label in pre 90s Gibson USA Logo. So its possible it was prior to Bozeman .
  8. Ive been told Fairbanks guitars are really nice. Nice ...
  9. Really? Didnt the plant close. So maybe Heritage guitars has them. The no questions asked makes me wonder if Gibson thinks there theres.
  10. Well who worked in shipping recieving at the time? Or in the marketing dept? Or North and south sales at the plant? Its like someone we know that was here that had kept records of Gibsons prior to 5 years ago at Bozeman. He had a wealth of info. That you wont be seeing again. He may of tugged on alot of people chains here. But he sure ment well. Gibson wont share what he did.
  11. I have a 39 and 40 SJ 200s. Both have Super jumbo 200 engraved on the heal caps, both have individual string saddles 6 on each guitar. Both are Rosewoods. Not Brazilian both are originals. I do have 1 of each year of the J 200s ( from 48 to 55. Those have double x braced top. Maple Guitars. . On a marketing point they were SJ200, basically just J200s without fancy appointments .
  12. Thats a good one. And it might be. Dont give them any ideas. 😁
  13. Super jumbo 200 , bound sound hole, ebony board , 4 bar pearl bridge. Rosewood back and sides. Multi color dots on guard and bordered , script Gibson , engraved heel cap . J200 Rosewood fingerboard and 2 bar pearl bridge, maple back and sides. White dot guard , block gibson . Thats my take
  14. I tried one. I put it back on the rack. I just did not like the feel of the guitar.
  15. Beautiful. I am one that prefers no strap pin. And that should be a personal thing to install. Same with electronics. Congrats on your Gibson. Really Nice.

Whats that? A 1000.00 case? I have quite a few Caltons when they were made here in Calgary Ive heard Hoffees are way better.
  17. All Gibsons are cased prior to shipping. Bozeman cases every guitar. As for the cases there made in Canada cases.
  18. yup. The Room where Kevin Kopp , John Walker, Val , Ren actually built guitars to your wants, Hand scalloped tone bars, any amount of Binding you would want, inlay. Types of wood. Colors. I supplied my own Brazilian. It was a cool time.
  19. I had a Custom Shop Brazilian Rosewood J185 done for me back in 92 The inlays were the J2000 leaf style . It was a real nice guitar. If the True custom shop was still running. I would do it again.
  20. Not the one from the video. Just a 39 00042 Authentic Madagascar. Its a Nice guitar. Darn thing kept staring at me.
  21. Did Zematis have guitars and so on back then? The Heart sound hole looks Zematis.
  22. I had a Rosewood , with the honey burst top. Really good guitar.
