  1. you had me all the way to the end of that one !LOL! Well played.. well played..
  2. I know -- a cock is a rooster! LOL! Actually my dad's aunt had a farm up in the white mountains,, beautiful place, horses, chickens, roosters, The roosters were nasty little critters I was chased around that place as a wee lad many times, my uncles and older cousins used to tell me to go in the areas where the roosters were to fetch them one thing or another, They'd count the seconds till I came flying back down the road with a rooster or two on my heels.. I caught on eventually they didn't need anything up by the coops, just wanted to watch me run...
  3. what the heck is goin on in the Caribbeans?
  4. doesn't matter, Hunter could have shot someone in the white house and it'd get swept under the rug... We're living in similar times to Germany in the 30s right now. stop watching the news,.. it makes the day a much more pleasant one.
  5. There's very little doubt in my mind on who is responsible for this latest chapter in the dumpster fire we have going on right now in Washington.
  6. you may be right but not something I'd worry about, I don't mind a lighter fretboard anyway. I rarely see it when I'm playing it!
  7. "Oh Hunter?" "yea dad?" "did you leave anything back at the house before we left" "hmmm, nothing important like a box of classified documents or anything" "Ah ok, never mind then"
  8. Progress isn't always great aint it. What you are asking for you'd think would be easy right? I wonder if a thing like a Sony Walkman (remember those) would work if you can go line out, to aux in What we do is put the bounces on DropBox I have a small Bluetooth receiver that I plug into my Silverado's Aux In. And from Drop box, (which can be wav, or mp3) I open them dropbox app on my phone and play them like that. for other music, I have a spotify sub. so I can find almost anything there to play. I don't listen to music on the radio, and haven't for years. If I have to hear "Broken Arms" one more time!!!!! (Oh wait, I mean Open Arms...)
  9. Unless you have a bigsby on something like LP standard, and are talking about a new USA brown case. trust me when I say, It Wont fit!
  10. Never hurts to try, I know that Sweetwater can do a little bit of wiggling if not using any of the credit promos they run.
  11. sweetwater shows same price as gibson's store. 4,700 I guess you can assume for a new one street price, thats what you're looking at
  12. I've never seen that product, but after watching the video, hard no. While others may have a different opinion, but I'd not be doing that to any of my necks. I'd also not be pouring Naphtha on the fret board as he did. It's a great cleaner, but moderation! Wet a rag or paper towel then apply it. You don't want that stuff seeping in between the frets and interfering with any glue that is in those fret slots. over all tho, for darkening a FB, I'd go with something a little less invasive, like some fret board conditioner. just my 2 cents
  13. I think it looks fine in that photo. Hydrating with a fret board conditioner (Nomad F1 Oil or anything made for this purpose) will give a darker appearance. Honestly thats about as far as I'd take it. Do that maybe twice a year?
  14. I'm digging D'Addario XS strings now too. They are pretty the gold standard for me. I used to like Masterbuilts PBs Found a few sets at the local store. So I bought two packs. ya know what? I released I didn't like them. A bit of the dull side. Perhaps it was because they were more or less "new old stock" They LOOKED ok, no corrosion that I could see but,, they did nothing for me kept them on my j200 for about a bit, then just put a new set of XS on. Wondering, do strings expire? maybe? They were sealed but who knows. Time wise, I usually change them after 5 months, (I chose 6 cuz 5 wasn't an option) but I bet I could get 6 months out of them
  15. I think both of my les paul PGs are beveled, not sure as I don't have pickguards attached In my flea bitten opinion, they sound 10 times better without them!!
  16. If you play it like it was meant to be played, a year from now, it wont matter
  17. yea but its the farts we treasure most...
  18. Some nice clean work there. How are you liking the tone stack change
  19. Cool! We've had a pool in the backyard since like 92.. replaced it once, so we're on our 2nd one. you're going to love it!
  20. I can always "find" the seams on my Gibson's , the finish hasn't seperated along the seam in any of them (6) that one in the picture seems (ha! see what I did there) a bit of an extreme case.
  21. Gibson headstock contours (the curved edges) are actually small pieces of wood glued on to the edges on either side of the head stock to give it that curved shape. I think you are seeing the seam where those sides are attached. Check the back, that seam may be more visible through the clear coat on the back
  22. !!LOL!! yep that for sure was different.
  23. I've had mine since last August. Came with Nickel 12 gauge, I eventually settled on D'Addario Chromes 10 gauge. These work for my small hands. Neck is a soft D profile Stock Machine heads work just fine. IIRC the ratio on the bass strings is different from the trebles. I think they mention that on the spec sheet. the P90s do have a pretty authentic "old school" sound,, they are underwound, so they are not as aggressive as normal say, Gibson P90. The rosewood bridge is not pinned, intonation is actually pretty much right on. I believe it's solid Cherry wood. The finish is a satin, and I usually don't like Satin finishes but on this guitar, it's just right I mostly use this for chord melody kind of stuff. Neck and middle position is what I generally use with the tone rolled back a bit. It doesn't' come with a case. The stock Godin case is one of those semi-soft/hard bag style cases, I bought this instead Gator Deluxe ABS Molded Case - Acoustic Dreadnought Guitar | Sweetwater fits pretty good, but not exact. I have 1inch foam piece tucked in along the bottom, that keeps the guitar from moving when it's in the case I like the guitar, and it does have an old school look and sound to it. It is the one guitar I will leave out most often.
  24. I guess you can't trust google, as that setting is most common on acoustic guitars. 4/64s, 3/64s is a reasonable ball park for electrics, but on a neck where all frets are properly leveled, somewhere in the ballpark 3/64s, 2/64s is quite achievable
