  1. Here in Central Mass, you could actually smell the smoke here on Tuesday as well
  2. pictures don't really give this one a lot of credibility. then again the only way to be 100% sure anyway is look at whats under the truss rod cover. the wrong answer is an allen wrench socket.
  3. Larry, I have one of the Godin kingpin II w/p90s. I play it quite frequently. I had some of the larger bodied Epis, (like a Regent and Broadway) they were pretty cool for the money, but they were kind of on the wieldy side. for the money, these are pretty nice
  4. ever had a chance to play a 70s era Artist or Musician? I had a Musician MC400, it was a beast. Wish I still had it.. back in the day as they say thing weighed about a ton,
  5. I was in a band with the co-owner of a store that used to sell Gibson's back in the late 90s. One fine day the Gibson rep shows up with a whole bunch of new rules. Essentially, they upped the bar to retain the dealer status and the store could not even come close to abiding by the new limits. This is when Guitar Center and places like MARS Music were just getting a foot hold, it was clear who Gibson was in cahoots with,, now, they may be rethinking.
  6. AFIAK if the dealer agrees to the terms, they can sell them the problem was most local stores - at least some time back - couldn't abide by the standards Gibson wanted dealers to sign up for to sell USA Gibson products. maybe they've lower the bar a bit?
  7. the two words that springs to my mind are Sell and Out
  8. You're right, it can be a tedious task. The servers are usually pretty stable, so as long as we don't "F" up, things usually stay on course. The worst part is the 2am onc all parties and last minute "What the hell is going on" incidents that almost always happen on a Friday afternoon before a holiday. We try to tell people, "Don't change **** on fridays!!! " do they listen? Nope! But on the bright side, they pay me well and if it wasn't for problems like that, they'd not need guys like me. have a good weekend Chris!
  9. I've been in IT support, in one capacity or another since 1977 started out working as a data control clerk, moved to operations, and eventually system administration running Main Frames on prem datacenters, over to virtualization when that was the rage, right up to what's happening today w/cloud based infrastructures running in AWS and AZURE clouds, and literally everything in between. If it was part of what an IT organization would be running and maintaining, I've probably seen it or definitely something like it. Not so much doing the specialized engineering you do, but instead maintaining the services and platforms you'd be using to store your code, run tests and pipelines to deploy new versions, via release management streams ... and all that kind of stuff. For every good thing these things do, there's something to balance it that aint so good. and I'm old enough to remember being one of the first families on our street to have a colored TV, replacing the small black and white ones that worked via Rabbit Ears and UHF Atenas. I even remember where I was when JFK was shot. Out side in the yard playing kickball. Our moms made us all come in the house. Like? Why??
  10. A tool like this should answer any questions
  11. All of that is true, the problem does not lie within the benefits of tech. the problem is "people" based. lets face it some people are just a-- holes, and IME, they actually like being a--holes these are people I stay the hell away from
  12. aint that the truth common decency and civility has suffered greatly from the development of something that was supposed to bring people together go figure..
  13. I do believe the wife would take umbrage with that one Larry!
  14. they are nice. but isn't a case, a case? My j200 lives in the OHSC Gibson case. My other gibbies, the same. My Taylors /Fenders/Gretch -- Ditto! I guess if I was dragging a few of em across the country on my farewell tour, that'd be another thing. but-- yea,, no farewell tour for this cowboy...
  15. I don't think it takes a big push at all in this forum to get the dogs barkin... if you don't want to spend $1,200 on a case, then -- don't spend $1,200 on a case!! simple solution!!
  16. some how 400 bucks for a watch don't seem so crazy.. those are killer cases, if you need something like that, I don't know why you would the brown LP cases I have have been doing a fine job for decades.
  17. yea, - I can't imagine the guys that walk around with Rolex or even higher priced watches. then again, I'd bet most of those guys don't get why we have 25 guitars..
  18. Taylor Guitars – Original Grain They look pretty nice, but my watches are usually under $100..
  19. hey Larry, yep. something they've been doing for a while now. I guess if you're into Taylors and also into Timepieces, it's yet hole to toss yer money into! And, we all need more holes to throw money in right? !!
  20. I have a 2012 SG Stnd. it doesn't do this. the ground may have some how failed. You may want to have it looked at by a pro
  21. solid guitars, with out the heavy price tag. I like the 49X series pups
  22. When I was restoring a 73 Jaguar, I got quite a few of the parts off reverb. had no probs at all. I've sold a few things off Reverb too, some of them local pickup items. Those went very well too.
  23. Like good old Chet said when he was told his guitar sounded great.. Puts guitar down, and says "how does it sound now?"
