60’s audiences In truth I have no personal experience as I started going to concerts & parties in 1970, but I do recall that in the uk most people stood (or sat) and watched the bands. This was true for both recording artists and local bands. The reason I mention this now is because I just got a live recording (of old Fleetwood Mac) on CD ‘Live At The Carousel Ballroom 1968’, and the notes include some Peter Green quotes. “In England I get bored, not musically, but the so-called blues fans stand there silently, listening. I wish they would let themselves go. In the Fillmore, the Shrine and the Carousel, which are just dancehalls, people come in to enjoy themselves, they shout and let themselves go. They don’t fight like they do over here when it gets crowded.” We knew of course about the US audiences. We read the music press and knew it was in stark contrast to ourselves. Another interesting snippet “When I was with John Mayall, most fans were just frustrated guitarists”. He goes on to say that he disliked this and wished they listened to the lyrics etc. It’s a bit of a sad indictment of uk audiences back then.

I miss the old double peg elasticated ones from the 70s. Dont know why they were discontinued. They could be tensioned to suit the player/guitar easy enough.

Merciful-Evan was another incarnation of me some 15 years ago. I used the Songstuff forum for many years, but the reviews were fawning, hypocritical pap. I asked for a special 'by application only' area where honest 'give it to me both barrels' criticism was encouraged. I was denied. So I created a sock puppet called merciful-evans. ME would post deliberately dire lyrics in an attempt to challenge the mutual admiration society. At least that's the way it started... After a short while, ME's lyrics came good. This was a an astonishing surprise to me. I was writing in a 'different' style entirely, changing from lyrics to poetry. It just made sense to continue to write this way all the time it was paying off. This carried on for about 4 years and ME garnered quite a few fans in that time. ME was another version of me who fully embraced his/my working class roots and even wrote a xmas song one year. Something I would never do as myself! I also use the moniker ME on 2 other guitar forums.

I have grown to like these. Especially that classic finish. Lots to like about them. Nice score. Congrats 🙂

I was going to ask whether the guitar was a smoker. Yes I have seen this on older guitars though less localised. I also think it looks pretty good.

Tracking software and spam. Its nowhere as bad as Pintrest (the worst) but annoying. I get that feeling I have a bit a cloying dirt on my fingers that wont shake or wipe off.

You seem to know more about it than me KB. I plead ignorance. Mine is an earlier model that I got after seeing one used on stage (oddly enough by a comedian) a few years back. I was so impressed by the sound I decided to hunt one down. It has proved very useful for recording, where micing up the Camps was fraught with problems, not least my breathing being caught as well.

Wow! Great response fellers. Unexpected too. Yes I've been fixated on electric guitars for so long now, and yet my forte is essentially acoustic. The sound of nylon guitars is just timeless and beautiful. I use a Camps (Spanish) model and a Yamaha Silent (peizo). The Camps has the action of a trampoline but incredible volume & richness of tone.

Everlasting Love - Love Affair No, I dont understand it either. The tune just popped in my head and needed playing. I suppose I could say I was curious about the song structure?! Anyway, I feel better now.

Oddly, after 30 years or so, I started watching the original Star Trek series #1 episodes recently. I thought I had seen them all more than once and knew them all. Maybe its my age but it seems like a 'different' experience. Lots I don't recall. Also the picture quality on a smart TV is better than I ever thought it could be. Not always a good thing with those SFX though! In short: Enjoying it as a late evening wind-down.

I have difficulty understanding trogly's enthusiasm for much of this stuff. eg: The dark finish on the back of the LP? As for the white SG. I thought it was perhaps the ugliest one I had ever seen; and I love the look of SGs. I hadn't noticed the twin pickup DCs before. I would have have liked to seen more of those.

Good to see. Generosity of friends, sweet guitar, running water... Nice result. Hope it continues in that direction.

I refurbish mine where possible. Though I haven't done to my Blue Chip (I don't really use it). This one is stone 'Agate', and needs diamond files to reshape it. It is labourious work!

Some of Patrick's ensemble seem a bit wooden. Otherwise looks good. I don't have Amazon TV though.

Anyone else here use them? Because I've seen no mention so far. I have a couple and may look at another soon. Perhaps to trade or buy outright.

I'm not aware of a change to Imgur. Certainly not one that has affected uploads or links. I have used it several times over the last week.
