  1. Lol, you remembered you forgot something, that’s still something
  2. Does anyone know, and this with respect to acoustics, does the finish (i.e. quilted, or flamed) have an impact on tone, or is it simply cosmetic?
  3. Flamed vs Quilted: Below is a flamed maple (I know it's electric, but thought it was a good representation) In the Gibson Lounge, someone posted a 'build your guitar' link. You can do flamed and quilted maple and see the difference. I can only post one pic here due to size limits (it's flamed) but use the links to build your own with quilted and you'll see the difference. Pretty cool IMO.
  4. PB - I feel you should get one of each to witness the differences first hand. If it helps in the decision process, you can claim you're doing it in the name of science đŸ™‚
  5. I'm a novice at best, so take it for what it's worth - but I either start with a lyric I really like, and try to come up with a melody that matches the tone I want to surround the lyric, or I start with a kick a$$ riff / melody - try to see what that makes me feel like and build lyrics around that, expressing the same tone. Both are centered around the 'feeling' I want the song to have.
  6. Ribs on the smoker tonight. LOVE 3 day weekends with good weather!
  7. Hey Jinder - just wondering, on your albums do you call out the instruments used by song?
  8. hmmmmmm.... there's a case to at least try coated. Seems a little on the wild side though.
  9. For the record - I was playing with string life. Input I had is the only real reason you need to change strings is they're about to fail, so I figured I'd leave a pair till they failed, lasted close to 6 months when I finally decided to swap them out. No issues, sounded fine to me... and then I changed them. Ooooooh do new strings sound good!!! IMO gives the guitar life. I personally prefer them after a couple of days of playing where the big chimeyness is gone, but still got the new string sound. I'm giving 2 mo a try and will see how big the delta is when I put a new set on. Just saying.
  10. In roughly 12 hrs, pulled pork sliders. They're on the smoker now...
  11. Nice job, got lost in it, that's how I rate a good song!
  12. Could you play with just your fingertips, not even your nails - or would that still bother them?
  13. I second this, although you sacrifice volume I can still get what I need (especially w/ a mic or p'up). I feel it's just plain easier to stick with the fingers (not long fingernails either). Probably lots of reasons why this doesn't work, but I say simpler is better...
  14. Welcome, nice guitar. I bet if you re-posted this in the acoustic forum you'd get some attention on that guitar and specs. Looks nice, but that's as much as I know, those guys know everything.
  15. 'Silver haired devil fox' and 'Bump on a frog', both originals... good originals :)
  16. Bummer about not getting the crowds, but something paid is still something good. Just wondering, what music seems to go over well for a cannabis event?
