  1. In the mid sixties I came across a Fender Shenandoah with a bolt-on neck and it had tone bar running through the center of the body. My best memories of play-ability of any 12 string acoustic I have come across. Unfortunately it be wasn't mine but belonged to my drummer, but I got to play it a lot. Has anyone had any experience with these.. ? Just reminiscing this morning..
  2. I mowed the front half of my lawn with my trusty Briggs push mower..
  3. I think people in general are chomping at the bit to get out of the house, specially for some place they might feel safe where they may be entertained.
  4. With the population density of cities in the east that would make sense, unfortunately. Any flat roofs in the area..?
  5. It might be time time for you to host your own performance club..
  6. If the so called Nighthawk has a 25.5" scale neck it could have something in common with the Hawk series.. But he body is reminiscent of other Gibson long horns.. The body reminds me of the Epiphone Del Rey built in the late 90's in Korea.. Their were shades of PRS and Hamer in the area... which spawned the current Epiphone DC Pro below and the Del Rey possibly influenced the similar Tak DC.. Gibson had history with offset horns like the 65 Epiphone Coronet with the similar batwing headstock.. Not to mention Gibsons long horn shredder style guitars...
  7. I posted this before somewhere else, but Roy is so hot, I'm listening to him today.
  8. 18 string Or my version... Update: My new tube amp survived being cranked for a few hours yesterday, aw the smell of new tubes cooking..
  9. Sucks is very accurate.. After thoroughly checking out the amp finding the amp, tubes, reverb tank and speaker seemed to not be damaged, but the grill panel was broken pretty badly. Feeling bored, I completely disassembled the amp and removed the grill panel. In the 70's I worked for a company that built amps for Gretsch. Confident that I could repair it, I glued and clamped it over night. Reassembled and testing.. so far so good, it sounds great... You might think it strange that I would try to repair it, but remember I live on an island nothing gets thrown away here and I was bored.. I am in contact with Monoprice about the damage, they don't know I rebuilt it yet.. I will fire it up today at my afternoon jam giving it the acid test...
  10. My SR15 tube amp came in yesterday shipped from the Monoprice warehouse in Kentucky, someone beat the crap out of it breaking the grill panel and busted the speaker loose.
  11. Very cool, my dad flew a B-24 there migrated from Texas during the war... Oh... he was just being used to ferry there he didn't get to stay long...
  12. Hmm.... Perhaps Epiphone should be in control.. 😜
  13. Not bad .... nice collection ... reminds me of mine... 🙂 Not mine actually this is the Hard Rock in Honolulu.. 🙂
  14. My point was, Gibson should be supported and not worry about breaking even while receiving an endowment for the arts from Epiphone.
  15. Hmmm, I would think they had enough revenue coming in from Epiphone to keep them afloat. Unless cutting Epiphones product line in half was a mistake, all thought they have started offering a few low end bolt-ons again.. I wonder if Corvette would survive without the rest of GM.
  16. Yep, its a big decision to go electronic, specially V-Drums and they need monitor amps..
  17. If they can afford them.. 🙂
  18. Why not just use black spray paint on the underside? I used to cut my own custom pickguards out of clear acrylic and paint the underside, sometimes multicolor or designs... Using a foil backing to protect it is a a good idea...
  19. They are expensive, but Roland keeps improving the feel of the drum head and making them react more like skins.. Electronic drums are still the best way to keep the overall band volume down.. Also on and off stage setup time is much less when everything is mounted to the drum frame... 🙂
  20. Not to worry, really dark gloss colors just show smudges more, light gloss colors smudge just as easy but are less noticeable. Also use very little wax, keep it clean.
  21. I liked the ease of using Roland V-Drums, specially compared to an acoustic set played by a very physical drummer. Although trying to control a stereo mix could be a problem, it was easier to take a direct output off the controller for each device directly into a mixer for recording. Or just use the stock stereo mix that was close to being mono. My first exposure to V-Drums in 2000, they sounded great..

  23. Does your practice space have enough room for proper distance? My improv space is a 2nd floor Lanai. We haven't had percussion for a few weeks, I miss it....
