Buc McMaster
Okay, here's the last of the guitar stuff I have that I want to pass on to someone who will make good use of it. Gave the last of my unmentionable material picks to a very good friend yesterday here locally, looking for a couple of creative souls here on the forum to lay hands on these last items from the quiver. As I said before, no more guitarin' 'round here! First we have a McKinney-Elliot capo with a fine leather case included. This one is what I call a stirrup design because of the way the crossbar locks in place. You can read about it here on the Elliot website. Very nice capo! The case has a pocket for picks and comes with a spare replacement tubing for the crossbar should the original give out (not likely). And second is a Blue Chip Pick box with four TPR50's inside. Now these picks aren't for everyone, I know. If you don't like inflexible picks with rounded tips please don't apply. I'd like these to go to someone that will actually use them, who's style works with a pick that doesn't move.........you know who you are. Nice! So how might you get this stuff? Since we have folks on the forum from both sides of the planet, some sleeping now while some are up 'n at 'em, I wanted to give everyone a shot, sooooo........... Write me a 4-line (or more) poem pleading your case as to why you need/should have the capo or the picks. You can write a poem for the capo and/or one for the picks but separately........one poem per item. Post as many poems as you like. We'll let this simmer until Tuesday, March 18th, 6PM Central Daylight Time in the USA. No more poems will accepted after that time.......okay? At that point I will pick what I judge to be the top two poems for each item, a total of four poems. I will post a new poll thread with these final four and let the rest of the forum vote for the winner of the items. Fair enough? Everybody gets a say in the final winners. So whip out your pencil, scratch you heads for a bit and post a poem! Post the poems in this thread! (PS......the carpet is not included in the deal!) gottabetweed
He cries, for he has no capo When the band says "let's change the key" He cries, for he has no capo "That's too high to sing" is his plea He cries, for he has no capo A free capo at night for, he dreams He cries, for he has no capo Must play barre chords forever, it seems
AnneS
There is a guitarist from Texas Whose skill on the uke doth perplex us For his capo, I sigh 'Cuz if I sang high I'd slide it, for luck, up my necks-us. (First try- there'll be more. ;) )
ParlourMan
What's all this goin' on noo? Another clearance by the bold bucaroo There's some pics in a coffin, designed by some boffin and a capo who's case once was a shoe.

RichG
There once was a guy named Rick Who yearned for a much stiffer pick. He sure couldn't win With a pick that was thin With a Blue Chip his pickin' is slick. Rich. aka "Rick"
Dave F
Alas my aging hands lack the flesh on the bones That others use to barre chords as they strum along To this I am forced to used a mechanical gadget To get to the key where my voice can hack it (First attempt)
Hairy Dave
From Texas to Belfast a far distance spanned, Cut short by the kindness of one Texan man, A capo so fine I might have it by luck, To replace my tired capo, a beat up old Shubb, And each time it’s used on my J45, I’d give Buc McMaster a virtual high five. PICKS: A seasoned chap - goes by Benton Saw a Uke in the window so he went in. The crooner's life did call; Guitars zapped large and small. Just don't play that thing near Trenton! PickitPaul
I know what I'd need To pick a bluegrass lead and strum a bass beat so fine- Is a pick that don't bend and strings therefore won't send it flying in misguided direction. Four Blue Chips so brown with all the tips thick and round would surely help with my intention.
Buc McMaster
A haiku Mating voice to song Closed chord resists sonic bliss Add capo-chord rings 5-7-5. Taihen yoku dekimashita, Rambler. AnneS
A capo with leather to protect the guitar (yet shiny and polished, like chrome on a car)? A case and some tubing? A pocket for picks? Why, McKinney and Elliot are up to their tricks! More than I dream of, beyond my outlay-- But… is it my fate to have it one day? Efficient and sleek and convenient, to boot-- Oh, I try not to envy a forumite’s loot! Still, NGD posts by all the fine boys Oft make me ache for such similar toys But I settle for strings, for picks or a strap (avoiding the ToneRite® and similar crap) So, Buc, I confess—your capo I crave (though boldly I say it, I’m less often so brave!) I’d treasure it always—I give you my oath-- If this once I be worthy or lucky or both
Working Mans Blue
Buco McMaster I needeth your capo O king of the uke Much More than these fellows My new j45 Would look much more alive With a country boy clip Hanging off of my hip No I don't want your picks I want that capo in my clutches And I don't care if I'm made fun of For using hippy crutches I'm no poet but it sure was worth a shot That capo has class like a fine Rolex watch

AnneS
Thought it was 4 lines ? Show offs !! :) "(or more)"- but okay, fine. How's this then? Once upon a song sung slowly, the key, at start, was much too lowly. Began anew, without regrets -did slide the capo up three frets. 😉
