duluthdan Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Nice performance - yep that J-45 was born for songs like this.
Avery Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Great to have you back, man. That was fantastic. You sing just as well as the country music guys I listen to.
Cougar Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Haven't posted a song in a good while. Man, great voice. And the tone of that guitar is superb.
MissouriPicker Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Man, you belong on the radio. You're one-hell-of-a-lot better than all the boy bands.
Buc McMaster Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 All around excellent performance, KW! Nice smooth set of pipes, sir! Guitar is a bit loud in the mix but does sound very good tonally. What is your recording setup? (OKC? Got family there still. MHS grad myself - Go Lions!)
MorrisrownSal Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Nice job Keith! Yeah... I had not seen you around in a bit...
blindboygrunt Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Yeah , you belong on the radio . That's as good as it gets . Not saying that flippantly. There just isn't any room for improvement there at all Top notch
kwalker201 Posted July 18, 2016 Author Posted July 18, 2016 Thank you all for your replies. I'm learning this process from you people, you are the talented folks on here. From Sal, Stu and Buc, FB, MP and Avery, everyone here is fantastic in my old ears. Buc, On that I was using a Rode NT1a, with a Yamaha mixer all going through GarageBand. Also, glad to hear your a former okie. I'm west in Yukon to be more exact.
blindboygrunt Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 That's what I bought , but don't tell bluesking , who wanted me to rob post offices for a neumann
flatbaroque Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Yep another gem KW.Like I turned on the radio and found something good.
kidblast Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 This is excellent Keith. I can't add more to what has already said, (I agree 100%) except that you should post more soundcloud clips.
Murph Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Very nice. Your timing, phrasing, pitch and touch are right there, man.
Buc McMaster Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 I made a few runs at Garageband but walked away quietly just before I tossed the Mac out the window! (Yukon.........home of GB, yes? Passed thru a few times a month when I was a student at SWSC, Weatherford. Was "College" then, I hear it's "University" now.)
kwalker201 Posted July 18, 2016 Author Posted July 18, 2016 I made a few runs at Garageband but walked away quietly just before I tossed the Mac out the window! (Yukon.........home of GB, yes? Passed thru a few times a month when I was a student at SWSC, Weatherford. Was "College" then, I hear it's "University" now.) GarageBand is fairly simple otherwise I couldn't use it. Yes home of GB! Are you impressed? He even has his name on the water tower. I'm originally from Ada, home of Blake Shelton. Ive never heard anyone complain about SWSU, they have a fantastic Pharmacy program there. Me, my degree came from UCO in Edmond.
jdd707 Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Now that's the way a J45 should sound! Nice job on the vocals and the playing.
EuroAussie Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 That was real quality. Top notch in all respects. The J-45 was absolutely created for this stye of playing, love the understated and moody approach, you created a great atmopshere. Those vocals are super smooth and you know how to tweak them to create the right mood and feel. Top effort all round, i think this is my favourite from all the ones you posted Keith...
blindboygrunt Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Do you record two tracks ? As in guitar first then vocals ? Or just place the mic between your face and the guitar ? Really sounds good man
kwalker201 Posted July 20, 2016 Author Posted July 20, 2016 Do you record two tracks ? As in guitar first then vocals ? Or just place the mic between your face and the guitar ? Really sounds good man Stu, that was just 1 track. I try to keep it as simple as I can possibly make it for myself. EA, thank you for your words
blindboygrunt Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 That's what I do , but yours has such great clarity
kwalker201 Posted July 20, 2016 Author Posted July 20, 2016 That's what I do , but yours has such great clarity I use my imac and garageband plus its going through my yamaha mixer
