Neck Binding.....

Recommended Posts

I've gone full circle.

I now (again) like the feel, and the visual, of binding from my point of view. I could do without fretboard markers, dots, blocks, whatever because I can't see them when playing, but I'm a fan of neck binding because of the quick reference.

What say you?

I only brought it up because I have a '79 SG as a spare, and a guy in the crowd ragged me to play it a while back, and man, I was having a hard time seeing the dots after playing the (Bound) ES-339 for so many months. We have a decent light setup too, but, I guess I'm getting spoiled.

Best to ya'll.

I don't dislike binding' date=' but if it's not there it no big deal to me. I do prefer large fretboard inlays.[/quote']

You can see those inlays when you play?

Just curious?

I can't.

I can see my trapazoid inlays a lot better than the dots on my SG or Strat. Plus, even though my Studio has no binding, it still has dots on the top edge of the rosewood fingerboard.
