Favorite line from any song?

Homz

Recommended Posts

"Half a mile from the county fair and rain came pouring down..."

Van Morrison 'And It Stoned Me'.

This may end up being more interesting then I had first intended. It's an insight into how people think metaphoric or literal.

"I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then"

- Bob Seger - Against the Wind

and

"When I find out all the reasons

Maybe I'll find another way

Find another day

With all the changing seasons of my life

Maybe I'll get it right next time

An now that you've been broken down

Got your head out of the clouds

You're back down on the ground

And you don't talk so loud

An you don't walk so proud

Any more, and what for?"

- Axl Rose/Gn'R - Estranged

I'm a rocker through and through, but my favorite line from any song is from the gospel song How Great Thou Art.

"Oh Lord my God, and I in awesome wonder. Consider all the worlds thy hands have made.

I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder. Thy pow'r throughout, the universe displayed."

Beautiful

Geez, I sing one random line from a Van Morrison song and Homz gets a new idea for a topic! Naturally, I've then had to wrack my brain all afternoon to come up with my own favorite line from a song. Ironically, it's not a song I have ever been particularly fond of from a band that I am also not all that fond of!

"Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way."

Time by Pink Floyd

I *will* give Pink Floyd credit for one thing. Putting on Dark Side of the Moon was always a surefire way to get lucky!

You Bugger!

Now I'll have to start all over again !!!!!

So f'in sorry!!! I'm sure I have a second favorite somewhere that I could think of. That's just one of those lines that I don't listen to anything in the song ever...but I always have to sing along to that part.

Oh! Of course--I just printed up the tab for this one..

"Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to."

Oh Well Pt1 by Fleetwood Mac

One of the sadder ones has to be from the late, great Lowell George.

"but all I ever get from her is long-distance love"

I think Homz may just pull off the record number of posts on this one - and so he should!

Thank you so much, Homz!

I'm gonna hang on to it; until the bitter end! But oh-oh, no-one knows you until

Oops. Sorry 'bout that.
