Happy Birthday to The King

To this day I still love and listen to them both. Seen Neil twice, both times with my mother. Elvis I never got to see, too young. I remember being dropped off at my grandparents when I was 7 or so while my parents went to Reno from San Jose, CA to see him in the early 70's.

I'll PM you my address for the gift.

I remember lying in bed trying to sleep as my Dad killed a twelve of Black Label beer jamming to Jim Neighbors and Mario Lanza!! That may explain why I am the way I am. msp_huh.gif

Elvis Presley was born Jan 8, 1935, and nothing has been the same ever since.Happy Birthday E.P. msp_thumbup.gif

this is absolutely true. my wife is a huge Elvis fan. I have him to thank for my Goldtop. she always thought Goldtops were ugly, until she saw Elvis had one. 3 months later, she bought me one. Thank God she hasn't asked me to buy an Elvis suit yet ...

I would rock an Elvis suit. The white one with the bird on the front or the one with the Aztec calendar. 70's-tastic. It would have to have a cape or no go.

absolutely, it would have to have the cape. and yea, I would wear the 70's white Elvis outfit, as long as she wore the Elvira outfit I've been asking her to wear for 23 years now .

Happy Birthday Elvis...R.I.P. I saw his last performance at MSA in Indianapolis with my girlfriend at the time. Was still belting those songs out. Even though he was overweight it was still cool to see him, especially since he died less than two months later.

Yes, my mom and her sister were going to see him late August at what was the Latin Casino in Cherry Hill NJ. He didn't make it.

I was 24 and should have gone to see him with my older 2 sisters but didn't go, it was towards his last stops, they saw him in Omaha where he performed in front of CBS cameras in the Mexican Sundial suit. They claimed it was his worst show of the tour, he sounded very drowsy and couldn't speak well. He went on to Lincoln, Sioux Falls, Des Moines, Madison, Cincinnati and then Indiapolis for the final stage performance. I was in drag racing at that time and probably at some drag strip.
