Live Music 2009 - Who are you going to see?

This weekend my wife and I were privileged to enjoy the music of John Lee Hooker Jr live and it was awesome!

That got me to thinking about the other live music events that we are looking forward to this year, Trucks / Tedeschi, Clapton / Winwood, lots of local artists, and some great music festivals with as-of-yet unannounced artists. We enjoy live music so much and have gotten to attend some really awesome stuff in the last couple of years and always can't wait for the next thing, large or small, we get to attend.

Anyway that led to me thinking about who others are looking forward to and excited about seeing so my question to you is:

Who are you looking forward to and excited about seeing this year and/or what musical events and festivals will you be attending?

I want to see the Billy Joel and Elton John two piano duet thing but I can't afford the tickets if I want a new amp.

King Crimson was supposed to tour but it got cancelled due to a stupid misunderstanding of schedules. It broke my heart.

I hope that Jeff Golub comes back to play the Winterpark Jazz fest (colorado).

That would be awesome. We hope to attend the Jazz fest there this year. We saw Johnny Winter at the Blues From The Top fest in Winter Park this last year. Awesome place for a music fest!

U2

Can't wait to see them as well!

Dave Matthews Band has been touring with Old Crow Medicine Show a little bit lately. I hope they keep it up so I can catch them at Alpine Valley. Also, Joe Bon(The Man)sa is playing the Pabst theater this coming weekend. Tickets are a little pricey though, so I'm still debating that one. Well, not so much debating as begging my wife. Insert "meow" and "whip crack noise" here.

I've never liked DMB but I love Old Crow Medicine Show, I hope I didn't miss them.

Im going to see Iron Maiden march the 10th and Carlos Santana in may.

I heard "Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner" on Sirius radio the other day. It had been a while since I had heard it. I then started looking for a Iron Maiden CD. To my surprise it has been so long since I had bought one I only had in on vinyl. This sucks since I no longer have a turn table.

I've seen U2 live a couple of times and have to say both shows were boring. Way too polished and rehearsed. It's like going to see a theater production.

One of the best live shows was REM when they were still a college band. Great show.

I can respect that but for me U2 was one of the best shows I've been too and I can't wait to see them again.

I saw them years ago, after they were more well known, still one awesome show! Would love to see them again as well.

This summer the Tragically Hip are coming to a local music festival "Hawk Rocks the park". AND I CANNOT ****ING WAIT.

I am gonna be first in line for tickets. And for Rush too if they end up coming to town, but that's doubtfull.
