World’s gone mad

Hey the world’s on fire

Food’s too dear and your gas is higher

Got to eat, and you’ve got to breathe

Got no money, well, it’s time to leave

Dow Jones crashes, the cats get rich

See them laughing

It’s a game

It’s just a game

Profit’s in hey, what’s going on?

All this time, it’s the same old song

If you’ve got dough, they’ll lend you more

When you’re broke, you get shown the door

They’ll take your home and they’ll take your car

Make you live in your mom’s backyard

The rich get rich, then get rich some more

Pretty soon, they’ll be all at war

It’s a game

It’s just a game

So who’s to blame?

It’s just a game

Playin games with people’s lives

Who struggle hard just to survive

The world is goin’ up in flames

it’s just a game

The last time I checked those business aren't owned by the government (well not really). They can do what ever the hell they want.

Who said the poor had anything to do with this???

The government MADE banks give out loans to people looking for a house they couldn't afford.

Everyone should have a nice house right' date=' whether they can afford it or not.

[/quote']

Anyone can do what they want. Doesn't make it moral, ethical, or good for our society.

Maybe we long ago should have made this business crap a crime and imprison folks just like some poor guy who robs you with a knife. It's actually worse in my opinion.

Woody Guthrie was right:

"Some will rob you with a six gun,

Some with a fountain pen."

They'll give you a decision when you get to 18, too

The right to vote for someone else who says he cares for you

But the only thing he cares about is getting to the top

By conning you with empty words that promise you a lot

But the end result is slavery to a false set of ideals

You'll be tempted to believe them cos they'll seem so very real

The slavery of attitudes that make you keep in line

Subconsciously devoted to the morals of our time

This one is set as a phone sex call to Margret Thatcher. with her moaning ect... also from the '80's

Greetings:This is the Secretary of War at the State Department

of the United States

We have a problem.

The companies want something done about this sluggish

world economic situation

Profits have been running a little thin lately

and we need to stimulate some growth

Now we know

there's an alarmingly high number of young people roaming

around in your country with nothing to do but stir up trouble

for the police and damage private property.

It doesn't look like they'll ever get a job

It's about time we did something constructive with these people

We've got thousands of 'em here too. They're crawling all over

The companies think it's time we all sit down, have a serious get-together-

And start another war

The President?

He loves the idea! All those missiles streaming overhead to and fro

Napalm

People running down the road, skin on fire

The Soviets seem up for it:

The Kremlin's been itching for the real thing for years.

Hell, Afghanistan's no fun

So whadya say?

We don't even have to win this war.

We just want to cut down on some of this excess population

Now look. Just start up a draft; draft as many of those people as you can.

We'll call up every last youngster we can get our hands on,

hand 'em some speed, give 'em an hour or two to learn how to use

an automatic rifle and send 'em on their way

Libya? El Salvador? How 'bout Northern Ireland?

Or a "moderately repressive regime" in South America?

We'll just cook up a good Soviet threat story

in the Middle East-we need that oil

We had Libya all ready to go and Colonel Khadafy's hit squad

didn't even show up. I tell ya

That man is unreliable.

The Kremlin had their fingers on the button just like we did for that one

Now just think for a minute-We can make this war so big-so BIG

The more people we kill in this war, the more the economy will prosper

We can get rid of practically everybody on your dole queue if we plan this right.

Take every loafer on welfare right off our computer rolls

Now don't worry about demonstrations-just pump up your drug supply.

So many people have hooked themselves on heroin

and amphetamines since we took over, it's just like Vietnam.

We had everybody so busy with LSD they never got too strong.

Kept the war functioning just fine

It's easy.

We've got our college kids so interested in beer

they don't even care if we start manufacturing germ bombs again.

Put a nuclear stockpile in their back yard,

they wouldn't even know what it looked like

So how 'bout it? Look-War is money.

The arms manufacturers tell me unless

we get our bomb factories up to full production

the whole economy is going to collapse

The Soviets are in the same boat.

We all agree the time has come for the big one, so whadya say?!?

That's excellent. We knew you'd agree

The companies will be very pleased.

I got a pet rock for my birthday. It's a good pet. Ain't got much to say.

His name Iggy. He likes to gig. He knows how to play rock.

Rolling here and rolling there he gets around. He's hard core.

Hits that diminished E minor like a nobodies business.

We watched a Zeppelin DVD together the other day.

Iggy didn't have much to say. I said to Iggy, "your the man" what else needs be said.

Iggy's got more rock in him then any rap star. "you know that's right".

Rock on Iggy.

Your right. Bush forgot to tell everyone that there was a terrorist attack on the calendar that day.

Actually' date=' Clinton was the one who downsized the military making us more vulnerable to such attacks, he had the chance to take out bin ladin and he didnt. Now bush gets the blame...big surprise there.

I could tell you what I know since I was working at NSA during 9/11 and following, but I'd have to kill you all.

Yea' date=' it's Obama's fault.

Right along with bush, his war, his ignoring domestic issues as he tried to make up for allowing 9/11 by chasing ghosts in Iraq, etc.

Oh, let's not forget the greedy execs who put short-term gain, bonus envy, and the like, ahead of good business sense. And, for the right wingers who want to blame poor folks -- some of them should not have taken out loans. But the greedy execs and investors who could sell those loans to the next group of greedy investors, pocket the money, meet their short-term quota, are also to blame. I'll forgive the poor, but the greedy bastards who have run companies like GM into the ground don't have an excuse other than greed (which is something too many right wingers accept as a law of nature).

It's going to get a lot worse before it turns around.

We're at 10.5% in California.

Don't you just love Demaconomics?

Or should we call it Obamaconomics?

It WILL get a LOT worse. I somewhat understand how it happened BUT -- the big question is how to recover (rebuild) an economy. I have seen NOTHING of informed writers about anyone who knows how .. not Wall Street, not the Harvard Business School ... most of all Washington. (We will not "vote" ourselves into a new economy).

Washington is doing a great job of making it WORSE by adding twenty or even fifty years on to what ever may have been a way out. (the great Obama/Pelosi boondoggle). They'll ultimately close GM and Chrysler and cripple the finance and credit industry. That will reduce the U.S. to "cottage" industries and home-office businesses.

That's what we were prior to the Civil War -- other than southern plantations and the Yankee maritime economy. Craftsmen, tradesmen. That is fine and dandy but it does not result in the "American lifestyle" so many of us have become accustomed to -- suburban house, cars, clubs, benefits.

Manufacturing will most likely not return to the US. So the 21st century economy must be a "trading" economy and that requires credit. The US credit industry will have been destroyed so where will Americans get credit? Perhaps England. Perhaps an English commonwealth nation (that understand the Anglo-European credit system).

What will America trade? (People, money, things, time??) Not products. Not money. Perhaps skills (engineering, medical, finance -- not likely, communications - arts). Time? ... the new EFFORT will need to be one of acquiring skills (to trade).

The bulk of the "bail out" ought to be spent on education for 300 million of us. But they are handing it out to friends who kick-it-back to them. Remember trillions. So how much gets back into the Swiss accounts of Obama and Pelosi -- and the rogues gallery in Congress? Billions? At least.

The NEW economy will slowly grow and the old economy will simply fold up and die off (beginning with GM and Chrysler) ... the 20th Century economy is a buggy whip economy now. How fast? How different? What currencies? How big/small? What will it mean to be "employed?" (to have an income?) Who knows?

Anyone who thinks that Obama is at fault for the present state of the economy must have his d*ck in the business end of an amplifier. Neocons who live and die by the lies of Rush and Sean need to go start their own country, because I feel they've basically ruined our country. Obama is green but smart, which is something I couldn't say about our president for the last eight years.

I'm scared as hell that Gitfidl is dead on the mark.

I've been saying much the same, but hey, I'm an extremist....

Anyone who thinks that Obama is at fault for the present state of the economy must have his d*ck in the business end of an amplifier.

Not so much Obama' date=' after all he was only in the Senate for how long.... and writing books the whole time.

The Defeatocrats, led by Pelosi and Reid OWN this economy 100%.

They started it in the 2006 campaign and aimed it RIGHT AT YOU in Ohio and Michigan.

This terrible economy, this awful economy, people are hurting, middle class is struggling.

You guys have been in a depression for DECADES!

All this bullsh!t while we had an economy unprecedented in world history.

Personal savings and investment, all time high.

Unemployment was less than 5% nationally for the longest peace time period ever.

Look at all the new cars sold, all the guitars, all the toys, all the swimming pools, everybody spending to support a healthier than OH/MI economy.

The Defeatocrats OWN this mess, and it goes all the way back to the sixties.

The Republicans had control of the House and Senate, as well as the Presidency for how many years...?

Yet you assign all this power to impose their will on the nation - damn, they must [b']really[/b] be good!

In his last three months in office, Bush saw all this sh!t running down the tracks at him.

He knew he could not stop the Defeatocrats in their bailout frenzy and would be leaving office in a few weeks, so he simply gave them enough rope to hang themselves.

They did so immediately.

Neocons who live and die by the lies of Rush and Sean need to go start their own country' date=' because I feel they've basically ruined our country.[/quote']

You mean the same country founded by our Fathers in their little American Experiment?

You need to read a fxcking history book my friend.

I think you'll find that those guys were WAY Right Wing by todays's standard.

Let's rewind the clock about 100 years and keep our government similarly in check, whatcha think about THAT?

I'm staying.

This is the LAST bastion of freedom and liberty, where Socialism is not yet the be all and end all of a Great Society.

There's no place to go to form another country so this is the last stand.

Maybe we could get back to the idea of Federalism (Founding Fathers, eh?) where each state has more autonomy to do what they feel is best for the citizenry and you could stay with the Liberal idealogy of taking money where you can and giving it away.

I'll stay in a state where I get to KEEP what I earn.

You want gay marriage, a job for everybody, free healthcare - YOU live there and YOU pay for it out of YOUR wages.

You want to get a taste of the sh!t the Defeatocrats are selling, just go to Europe.

Beyond that, it's Third World countries who still drink water out of ditches.

Your idea of 'progress' along with Hope & Change from the New Messiah will bury us all.

Obama is green but smart' date=' which is something I couldn't say about our president for the last eight years. [/quote']

Nor could I say the same about your comments here.

What has Obama accomplished in his life - EVER?

Why did you vote for him?

Mission Accomplished, and by that don't mean standing on an aircraft carrier five years (and counting) too early, the man who went AWOL, and his Halliburton boss swimming in deferments. No, I mean getting a guy who has absolutely no chance of changing my mind to waste his time pontificating in small-mindedness, like all Neocons do at their desert compounds, clinging bitterly to guns and religion.

You claim to be at your desert compound clinging bitterly to guns and religion, and proud of it. You have much in common, my friend, with Certain Groups in Certain Countries who are Certain To Cause Us Harm; problem is, you don't see the parallel. With that mentality, under the Bush administration, we could hold you without charges for years, then torture you in some secret country.

No one's mind is going to be changed in this; perhaps I should just say, Cool guitars. I've said my piece, and am done with this thread.
