That's how I felt when I registered back in 1990. I didn't agree with Dems on Gun Control or that Day Care Mother attitude they had, but I didn't like economic policies of the republicans.

 

And I can't tell you how throwing money at a problem will fix it. I haven't done much defending of Obamas economic plan, because I don't see how it's going to help, but I Hope he's smarter than me. But I'll tell you this, If it doesn't work, He's fired! I won't vote for him if he doesn't deliver.

I would have gleefully accepted an explanation of how we, as a nation will pay for trillions of dollars of new debt on top of an already dangerously bloated deficit.

These are uncharted waters.

Our economy is facing peril unlike any time in history, or currency is in danger of collapse, and our credit is just about gone.

 

At some point, the American Taxpayer will be expected to actually PAY for this bullsh!t and NOBODY here seems to think that's a possibility. Nobody is seeing the financial reality of the situation, or the consequences ahead.

Giving Congress and the new president a blank check is NOT solving anything.

 

The best way I can think of to illustrate it is to simply post how much money will be paid by each citizen.

Adding to that, I posted how much will REALLY be paid by the few who actually fork over enough of their hard-earned money to make a dent in the gov't spending.

When 10% of the nation is paying 70% of the freight while more than 1/3 of those with a job are still getting a free pass just like those who don't even work - something is VERY wrong with the equation.

 

Nobody wants to touch that.

That means the government is writing hot checks.

 

If the bank (China) stops cashing them, where will the money come from?

You realize that, barring something like China shutting off our credit, this debt will be with us for a long time, and that it will take a great deal of reform to put our economy and government in a position to pay for it all? It takes money to make money. It takes money to reform a whole country's infrastructure, it takes money to reform education and health care, and it takes money to save a group of financial institutions that come to you and say "Hey, we're bankrupt. If you don't bail us out the economy will probably die, just flat out." What's your genius resolution to this problem? Not raise taxes? Say we didn't give trillions in bailouts. Say it's April 2006, and the debt's already at 8.2 billions dollars. What do we do? Since what you really seem to be *****ing about is the tax raises, how do you propose we pay off an 8.2 billion dollar debt, a debt that was going down until the Republicans took Congress and the Presidency in 2000, without raising taxes?
