rocketman
Very neat! I'm not a physicist but I was trained by a few. String theory is interesting but it's got a lot of complications. Great stuff though...

Blackie
Would'nt it be infinite in all direction....small as well as far and large......we just can't see that small or far yet.
jamman
does every being in the universe use the same scale?
rocketman
Would'nt it be infinite in all direction....small as well as far and large......we just can't see that small or far yet. Depends if the universe is open or closed. Let's imagine you live in a 2-dimensional world (you only know about forward/back and right/left). You are in South America and your friend is in Africa, both on the equator. You both decide to walk perpendicular from the straight line of the equator. But you end up meeting! How can that be? Well because you and your friend really live in a 3-dimensional world and you meet at the North (or South) pole. Our universe is actually the same way because we live in a 4-dimensional (or higher) space. Each mass warps space around it, which Einstein proved, that causes gravity. Well if we live in a closed universe, then if you travel out far enough then you'd end up in the same place you started! Stated another way. If you build a big enough telescope then you should be able to see the back of your head...

LPguitarman
That was awesome. Kinda like some of our discussions when I was a lot younger at our weekly quarterbarrel parties. What if the Earth was just a small speck of dust on a large ball of matter flinging through the universe ...... you get the idea.
