Toon wood bodies?

From a forest on the outskirts of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne' date=' obviously.

English football joke. Don't worry. It's not funny even if you do know what I mean.

Toon is actually the proper name for what many imported guitars are made of, called "mahogany." It grows across Asia and Australia. It is related to mahogany, but isn't.

Used for shipbuilding, furniture, and, evidently, guitars.

Actually it's a type of cedar, according to this website

"cedar", "Toon"

An important timber of Australia, Papua New Guinea, SE Asia, and India. Grown commercially in the Pacific. Fast growing hardwood with buttressed base. Excellent red wood."
