Is it my age (51) or what? I'm finding these semi's more and more attractive. This one looks really nice though.

NeoConMan
Yeah, you're getting old and coveting Olde Man guitars... When I bought my ES-335 I was well into my 30's. I was pissed at myself for not looking at them more closely years before. I've wanted a 175 for years since, and I'm 'only' 45.

Fear not...these semis are lovely and not an age thing....some gypsy jazzers play them from 10yrs upwards. Start mild with a 335 then progress in stages to a big fat L5 or Scottie Moore type....Air Rocks !!

LarryUK
I don't think what music is played on them. Ted Nugent proved that. Since coming back to playing, I was after a Les Paul. But now I'm not so sure. I've got a 335 copy (Aria)and it plays great. But, the feel of the body's nice. So, I'm scouring ebay for something. Silenced Fred
I'm 18, and I want a 339 and something like an Epiphone Riviera "Limited Edition" with the 3 pickups for quite a while now.
LarryUK
On another point. When I was in a band. I had Les Pauls and I never got the sound that was in my head. Since then I've often wondered if it was the guitar more than the amp. Having You Tube I can listen to various guitars and I like the sound some players get from their semi's. Ie, Alex Lifeson. I can't explain the sound. But you probably know what I mean.
NeoConMan
I too sold a couple Les Pauls over the years - they never clicked with me though all my favorite players used them. Still I have trouble pinning down a tone in the two I have - like you said, I know what I want but it just ain't there sometimes. My ES-335 is ALWAYS there for me - and it'll do probably 80% of the hard rock stuff the Les Paul will do. In that regard, my 335 is like a nice, big pair of boobies. They always bring a smile to my face.

BigKahune
lashurst - Beautiful guitar. I love hollow and semi. Currently I've got a hollow jazz box. I used to have a Gibby Dot and a Casino. Now I back lookin' at Casinos. No, it's not yer age. Plenty of guitarists, young and old, have semi/hollow in their stable.

KSG_Standard
With age comes wisdom. That's a killer guitar. I've been seeing lot's of high end hollow bodies and semis on ebay lately. I guess the economy is forcing people to sell their best stuff. Several Byrdlands, an ES-350T and and L5 on ebay right now. I have an ES135 and it's one of my top 2 guitars. LarryUK
I've been bidding on some. Only bottom end ones. It's surprising how cheap some of them are. I want an old one and one to practice neck repairs etc on.

L5Larry
335 is like a nice, big pair of boobies. They always bring a smile to my face. I think Gibson has a new slogan, I'll bet this can sell some 335's.
