surfpup
I know it's a day late, but it's the first chance I got to try out the new Samson Go Mic I got for Christmas. We are visiting family out of town, so I finally got some time alone and borrowed my brother-in-law's Blueridge to play with this thing. I had to have one after hearing the great results Duane got with his. So far I like it a lot. It's so easy to just plug in and play and pretty sensitive too. Definitely makes my finger picking weaknesses apparent! Can't wait to try it out at home with my Gibson CL acoustic.

Riverside
I can't get it to play! Me neither. Is it a Facebook thing? If so, so sad. I'm not smart enough for that.

surfpup
...how does it sound recording an amp? Thanks all. I haven't tried it with anything but an acoustic yet. I'll play around with it more when we get back home. Might try some different rooms too. That was my mother-in-law's dining room. I'm sure some rooms would be deader and some livelier. I could even take it in the bath for some real room ambiance!

surfpup
wow that sounds really good, how far was the guitar from the mic? Thanks, the Go Mic has a clip that also works as a stand. I tried it first clipped to my laptop screen, about two feet away and that sounded good - especially for doing one take with guitar and vocals. Then I tried it on it's stand on the edge of the table only about 8" or a foot away from my picking hand. That sounded best for Greensleeves. Looking forward to moving it around some to get different sounds.

surfpup
I too dig my GoMic, especially for doing my live stuff.... Yeah, it was your Breakfast with Duane recordings that ignited my GAS for this little mic. Heading home today, so I hope to play around with it some more. It's just too cool to be able to do a decent recording without setting up any major gear. And you're correct it picks up everything.... even slight breathing No doubt. I have to learn not to breathe! Surprised it didn't sound more like wheezing with the cold I have. And the loud pop at 0:19 really is the knuckle on my thumb cracking while finger picking. Sensitive indeed. surfpup
well done with the finger picking and a nice sound you made too. Matt Thanks, Matt. I imagine you can kill that tune with one of your nylon stringed beauties! I need to find a nylon string with a not so wide neck. Is there such a beast? Duende
Hi Surfpup Yep there certainly is! The 'big makes' have guitars that have hybrid nylon guitars that are for people who play mainly acoustic or electric and used to thin necks, but in my opinion they often don't sound like a classical guitar. An example is Taylor. They make some lovely steel strung instruments; but are as good as making classicals as i don't know...America is at making beer (just leg pulling okay?!!!) Here though is the Alambra Cross over...and yes the Spanish can make a good classical/Spanish guitar! http://www.classical...lassical+Guitar Only £849 or £1300 dollars Matt
