  1. I'll try to go to SoFi Stadium in May. Saw the Stones there and it was great. I saw him in 2002 in Oakland. it was amazing. Maybe I'm Amazed easily.
  2. Thanks folks! we moved things by hand all day. Tonight will be the inaugural night! Too bad we are in a 4 month non drinking spell. May have to make an exception!
  3. Thanks guys. Honestly surreal. Trying to keep all energy positive. This might actually happen.
  4. it's been 1,184 days since the calamity fire that took my material possessions. We will undergo inspection next week and if we pass, we can move in to the new house in one month. Our plumbing septic died in the 700 sq ft "bunker" that we have been living in and LA County said we can move a few things like clothes and use the one bathroom that is finished (still waiting on supply chain delayed stuff for the others). So my wife and I ceremoniously moved in some clothes! What a great feeling. We will sleep on a blow up bed tonight. Glorious day too. Side of the house with our dog Bartolomew (Bart) and Santa Catalina in the background. Cheers everyone!
  5. Kind of Freudian reaction formation no?
  6. Fantastic, enjoy! All of my Jersey friends out here ( a good number) have parents who live in Florida. 😁 Someone will say that about you in 25 years. btw just curious, were you part of the great resignation of the pandemic? I was. Feels cathartic.
  7. The 101 to the 405....I'm just happy to make it out alive.... Did you move from The Jersey Shore to Florida (I'm way behind, apologies).
  8. I think the narrative has changed since the last election, of course for political gain. It was the previous conservative administration that developed the vaccine with emergency powers. Remember when our current president and V.P. during their campaign were against the vaccine because Trump was behind development? I do. Now if you in anyway criticize the vaccine or government mandates surrounding the pandemic, you are a Trump supporter. How did that happen? It has become political precisely because of what Sparky said using his generalities the preserve and enhance political power. As a physician looking at it from an apolitical standpoint I see the need for masks and vaccines. I got it the second day in California as a frontline worker. I was boosted before it was generally available. It's a respiratory virus. SARS stands for severe acute respiratory syndrome. It is spread by the respiratory system with 2 primary ways to enter and exit the body - the mouth and the nose. That's why masks work. Always work - no. People don't always use them correctly. There is a German word for wearing it only over your mouth and not your nose - maskentrottle synonymous with stupid. The virus is so much more than just respiratory. My best friend from my training days died suddenly from Covid. He isolated and was getting much better with Delta variant a year ago. Felt well enough to go to work. Was adjusting his tie in front of the breakfast table and said to his college aged daughter, "I don't feel good, I think you need to take me to the hospital". He collapsed and died from a pulmonary thromboembolism. 59 years old. He was unvaccinated because he wanted to wait after a few weeks after just having received the shingles vaccines. I personally believe it is darwinian risk taking not to get it (vaccine) if you can. To agree with Zigzag's point, the unvaccinated are weighing down the healthcare system. Clogging up the resources for what, to make a political point?
  9. I had significant hearing loss with my last yearly physical. I therefore went to see an ENT doc that I've worked with for years. He said, "Phil, any family history?" I said "yea, My grandfather, my mom, and my sister." He said "any occupational exposure?", "Well I played in a rock band for about 10 years in the 70's and 80's and for the last 30 I've played between 1-3 times per year." " Any protection?" "Yes, the last 10 years or so." "Phil, You're screwed."
  10. Getting older: where we're getting tired of being part of a major historical event. Where we don't always go the extra mile, but when we do, it's because we missed the exit.
  11. I know it's a Gibson loving thread but I play my Strat more than any other. My dad bought it for me as a graduation present in 87. In my very humble opinion, Gibsons kinda play themselves (meant in a complimentary way). Strats you gotta fight with a bit. I love it. Especially in the "in between" position between the b ridge and middle through a fender amp.
  12. Sound amazing through the Tone King Sky King (Blackface circuitry 6L6s). With coil split they sound like a Strat. In double mode overdrive really nicely. I've played 57 classics, burst buckers I and II and whatever came stock on my V. These are my favorites.
  13. I got the custom buckers not because I know anything, they were the newest and coolest sounding.
  14. When I lost all of my guitars (except my 75 Flying V at my Mom's house) 3 years ago and coworkers took up a collection, I immediately spent it on the guitar of my dreams - A Goldtop LP axcess custom. It is amazing in every way. The only acoustics I'll own are Gibsons. I'm sure Martins and Taylors are great, just not for me. I've always been a fan, since my Melody Maker.
  15. Not drink for 100 days unless we can move into our house before the 100 days. That night will be Cristal.
  16. It's great. The delay is really pretty cool. I live in such tight quarters that I really needed something like it. Good job Fender.
  17. Keef is a lot of people's inspiration! Definitely mine
  18. Thanks D'ville! I actually used to live off of Livorna very close to Danville. Recorded on Apple's Logic Pro. Honestly nothing special. Couple bottles of Pinot was very special though. Love your stuff man, You're a hero 🙂 Merry Christmas!
  19. Or try one of the over 50's "senior" dating websites?
  20. Here is one that my bff and I wrote and recorded last week. His daughter, home from college, sang it. Played a Strat and J-45.
  21. Kauai 2 weeks ago: My Warmoth tonight:
  22. Very very nice, enjoy. I need to check out the 00 martins, never played one.
  23. Surf music must be played on a Stratocaster. Sunburst nonetheless. It's LA County law.
