  1. Wh-where is The Monster Mash in that list? I toured with Bobby... well, one tour. We also played Me and My Mummy. That's why he was a true one-hit-wonder. :^)
  2. Yes, sadly he's long gone. Abyssinian.
  3. He sort of had cougar markings....
  4. With "USED" on the back of the headstock, it's definitely a factory second. I imagine the serial number (production number) was filed off at the same time. The seller should have disclosed this, and you should have gotten a reduced purchase price. Is there a numbered sticker covering the original serial number on the label inside the soundhole? The guitar was likely sold to MIRC for refurbishing (if needed) at a much reduced cost. Then MIRC resells the guitar. Many MIRC guitars are just fine, but their resale value is reduced. There is no legal issue reselling them, though.
  5. They're hard to beat. With my F-50R, I really don't need another 6-string. The Corona-built JF30-12 is my best 12-string, but I also like my 2018 Songwriter 12 and my little Martin GPC12PA4. Actually, I have ANOTHER JF30-12 up on reverb at the moment - a Westerly-made wood grain blue in excellent condition. Price reduced! :^)
  6. Petty's Won't Back Down on the Guild Corona-built JF30-12. And on the Guild F-50R. I did, however, newly upload this probably 40-year-old recording, I think the only one I ever played blues harp on....
  7. Man, that's a super 12-string, and that's coming from a 12-string guy. Great photo, too!
  8. As mentioned, humidification will help, and cleating a crack like that is not a super major repair. That's going to be a fantastic 12-string!
  9. Nice! That must be pretty rare, especially in black - as you say, it's out of the Gibson custom shop. Looks like there might be an issue with the center seam below the bridge. (?) As another dread, I wonder how it would compare to my Songwriter 12-string....
  10. Man, another SJ200 NGD! Super major congrats! Love the burst!
  11. Wow! Major congrats! To me, that is the ultimate Gibson acoustic. Jumbo, baby! You gotta be over the moon!

    Reverb

There's nothing quite like getting a great deal!
  13. 27, not counting the odd guitar I had over 20 or 30 years ago. I now have 8.

    Reverb

I happen to have a very nice limited edition (woodgrain blue) jumbo Guild 12-string up on reverb at the moment. There are 10 watchers, but no offers yet. I'm not in any big hurry, but it's nice when a guitar gets sold!

    Reverb

I just checked my reverb payouts. Since October 2016, I've taken in a bit over $6,700! Unfortunately, the amount of my reverb purchases exceeds that amount. :^/ But I do have 8 very nice guitars! Only recently did I discover getting reverb's shipping labels. Man, they're an excellent deal!
  16. Still kind of bummed this one got away. It was up on reverb for a year, I was ready to pull the trigger, and somebody snatched it. A Guild DD 12-MCE - Doyle Dykes Signature 12-string 2014 Tobacco sunburst! This one didn't get away. Still my favorite - a 2002 Guild jumbo JF30-12 whiskey sunburst....
  17. I use reverb for buying and selling, but ebay still has the best way to check on the value of particular guitars (and other things). I think you've got to be a member, but then you can search on "completed listings" as well as "sold listings," which will give you what the item actually sold for , not just what people are asking to sell it for. Unfortunately, this is usually restricted to the last couple of months, so more rare items might not show up at all.
  18. That's not the way to do it! Now, this... is the way....
  19. Well, wireless wi-fi probably. Of course, that would also reach the other room that I put the amp in. Don't know, but now I don't have to hunt down the interference.
  20. Well, I took your advice. Two day free delivery is pretty amazing. Plugged 'em in, paired 'em up, man I was getting a nasty high-pitched "hum." My computer was nearby, asleep, but that might have been the problem. I moved the amp into another room and.... no high-pitched hum! No hum at all! Amazing little $40 gizmo!
  21. The guy that used to setup and/or repair my guitars would slap me upside the head.
  22. Seems like it! I'll look that one up!
  23. Anybody seen/tried this wireless system that does away with your guitar cord? https://nexxusdeals.com/products/wireless-guitar-transmitter-and-receiver?variant=19121969987646 Sounds like it might be coming out of China - delivery might be a little slow - but it's certainly inexpensive enough. It also sounds like they might have written their own reviews, who knows?....
  24. Hey, I'm 5 lighter than I used to be (but still at 8).
