  1. Let's stop both sadistic cops, criminals AND looting/vandalism. That'd be something. That said... I'm fairly conservative for a longhair, but if a guy is on that much fentanyl, do you really need to restrict him that hard? The answer, however, is unlikely to be attacking random white guys or burning down stores. That'll FAN the flames. I'm seriously starting to believe that the only hope for unity (I don't just mean the race stuff) if is everyone is as into music as I am. I've never seen anything work better when it comes to uniting people.
  2. Hello. 1) I would use Gibson polish. I personally use a damp cloth if need be, but a Gibson product should be safe for Gibson nitro. A soft toothbrush is excellent for removing build-up. 2) Nix the wool and buy a cleaning cloth from www.gorgomyte.com or one of their retailers. 3) Guitar lemon oil is basically mineral oil in a yellow bottle. Don't use actual oil from lemon. Dunlop is good. I recently found out that for it to do any actual difference, it'll have to sit for 30 minutes.
  3. For alternative rock, the Tele is probably better suited. I would think. It looks like you have your sound palette covered. Lose the Tele, and there go the twangy cleans. I say this, of course, as someone who's never played a Tele in his life.
  4. Not warm enough for me . Too bright. Sounds like they're not trying hard enough. My 490r/t combo smokes them, and they're AlNiCo II. I've tried different heights. The bridge pup is, like, touching the strings, and it's still far from even resembling hot. Or rather, it's hot but tinny.
  5. I'm confused. Some guitars (The Gov. V and Explorer, the 2017 V) come with 2 DF humbuckers. Most sites list them as bridge pickups. Not all, though. Anderton's list them as "position: both". Are there really separate neck and bridge Dirty Fingers, or can I just order two of them and bung either one in either position? It's either that or 496r /500 t. Which I've never played. Advice? It's for rock/metal. I just can't get along with BB Pros. God knows I've tried every which way.
  6. On my bucket list. I remember Bowie refering to that guy as "an ALARMINGLY glamorous young man". I thought that was pretty funny.
  7. That's the "Evilive" EP. (fetches a pretty penny). The LP (on Plan 9 Records) is the full gig. 30 min or so.
  8. To answer your question: common? I doubt it. If I had to look twice to see it? Yes. If it's a defect? No. One of the better looking Tribute Gold Tops I've seen. Let go. I know New Guitar OCD all too well, but just let go.
  9. No photo flame 😋 (Welcome back!)
  10. Bring the "Evilive" songs, but omit I-for get-which-one where he goes, "one more fxxking time, you axxholes - DIE" in between verses. It's not road-safe. I'd forgotten about that quip, and laughed out loud. As you probably know, Glenn's speaking voice and his giggle in particular isn't as macho as he'd like it to be, but he's so in the zone that it sounds like someone else. Maybe it is, I dunno. It's funny all the same. The OTT lyrics and then that on top.
  11. For those who don't want to chase down the vinyls, there's the box set on CD with all the songs that have Danzig on vocals. I listened through every song at work the other day, it had been quite a while. It's pretty amazing what he did with three chords - all those great vocal melodies. Agreed, "Walk among us" is a good first listen for anyone interested. Rock solid, and if you like that one, there's lots more where it came from.
  12. Those were the parts I liked. I was hoping me and Sgt FZ was gonna get a-fightin' over the string gauge/B standard tuning thing, but it failed miserably. Probably because we're both rebels without a cause and so hardcore we even saw Metallica in the early 90s.
  13. There are fake Epiphones out there, though.
  14. The first two are the best IMO. The third and fourth have their moments. But the first two are stellar. Then it went downhill fast.
  15. The last hurrah. John Christ is highly underrated.
  16. It's simultaneously the worst and the best lyric ever written. I read his autobiography. Not really a fan, but it was a good read.
  17. Rupture - Lust and hate (Aussie raw hardcore punk) Mortiis - The smell of rain (it's surprisingly good, check it out) Marduk, Watain, Funeral Mist... And my ****ing tinnitus.
  18. Super shitty day. So sick of so many things.
  19. Still leaning towards this. Dear diary, right?
  20. Dig all the Misfits stuff with Danzig. Saw Danzig with John in the mid-90s. Great show.
  21. I hear ya, but the 11-52 set is light top heavy bottom, and most people would use even thicker strings for B standard. So it's a good idea to calculate tension and see if you need to adjust the TR. Edit: it's also a good idea to read the post I'm replying to. I guess I'm just a rebel.
  22. Sounded just fine. Well, it probably would've sounded better with thicker strings, but no intonation problems or anything.
