  2. My bassist band mate uses a phone app. https://www.facebook.com/100004776005125/videos/1444562995712887/?t=62
  3. aesthetics aside, it would be practical for those who take 2 guitars along because they think 'the songs calls for it'. We are not practical though, we care more about looks than anything. Thats why jazz fusion never adopted this
  4. Sorry to hear this Cman. You and yours have been hit hard. Here's hoping for a better tomorrow šŸ˜³
  5. I don't think we need to be off-world in order to be toxic
  6. No. I occasionally use one of these at home though
  7. Oh, I am certainly the oddball around here; and very lucky to be tolerated TBH šŸ˜‰
  8. Well done sir! A really great original find. 24 frets on ebony. I would be all over that. šŸ‘ŒšŸ¤©
  9. Tidy Strat. Cream with maple neck. 22 frets. Excellent. šŸ‘ |Congrats! I'm doing my bit to kick start the economy also. I'm printing some more money.
  10. While I welcome any alternative to a wood neck in principle, that is too hard on the eyes. I don't know why that should matter; but it does. I must be getting like you lot?!
  11. I haven't played one. I did play a bunch of LP DCs back in 2015, I really wanted to like them but just didn't like the sound of the P90s. Ideally you need to play one. That could be impossible while lockdown is going on, so if you have to use mail order, make sure the store operates a returns policy that suits you just in case. Good luck.
  12. I think I would get the other guitar and retire your old one. You could hang the old one on the wall like a war trophy, while still playing the usable one.
  13. I assume you are speaking of the fretboard inlay. Dunlop string cleaner? I know it has oil in it. That's about all I do know about it. While I personally avoid oil content products on untreated wood, many players use them without any problems. The general advice though is to use it sparingly; not frequently. Since inlays on guitars of this age should be laser cut, its surprising that you've had this problem. The fit should be perfect. Temperature change however, is a likely culprit I suspect. How is the humidity? Do you check it? Could the guitar be under or over hydrated? As for a solution. I see no reason why you couldn't glue it back in place. However, I am not an expert! Nor would I know what glue to advise. Good luck.
  14. Glad you got what suits you. Enjoy that in good health for many a year šŸ‘
  15. Not in my experience. The only good working trem I have that will permit double stop bends without detuning is on a PRS. Its hardly used and I'm going to put it up for sale this year.
  16. I have been practicing a song I wrote yesterday 'Corona Lament' (unrelated to Corona Calypso posted elsewhere).
  17. Grateful Dead - Fallout From the Phil Zone Wonderful choices from Phil Lesh. That needs a spin soon.
  18. That is just the sort of finish I crave. Normal grain! Pretty understated burst. Its the sort I wanted, but for me, fire burst was cheaper at the time. Very tidy. Very cool. šŸ‘Œ
  19. Ok, I made this to lighten the mood for my friends on social media. We know of people who have not survived. Nevertheless, this is not politically correct. If you are a child of the satirical age (uk) with Frost Report, Peter Cook etc. the heart of what you say is its intention. My nurse friends understand have been supportive anyway. Written 10-04-2020. Recorded 11-04-2020 (quickly. All single takes) in the morning I gave up trying to synch lyrics to video so kept it simple. The Corona Calypso 1/ As day was dawning, she took her morning cup of tea black again Across the way, they threw away their rancid milk into the bin And she knows they didnā€™t mean to taunt or to tease her She heard their voice, they had no choice, nor room in the freezer Chor/ Corona, corona, corona is here today. We donā€™t know how long it means to stay. Corona 2/ Donā€™t do what I do, do what I say. I know coz Iā€™m the boss And after we have shaken hands, make sure that you all wash With my responsibilities, I need a broad pair of shoulders I need ā€˜em, coz between ā€˜em, I balance a boulder Chor/ 3/ Little Jude, was oh so good, queuing for a while So when we got in, I let him run up and down all the aisles And ā€œweā€™re all in this togetherā€, are the words upon my lips But every mans for himself when the last eggs are at my fingertips Chor/
  20. Yes we got em. Some are expensive, some are not so good. Most of them are boring. I began on ebay uk, because a fellow there is supplying W&W straps to the uk and quotes `No additional import charges on delivery'. but when you try to checkout additional undisclosed import charges are automatically added and the price leaps up by another lump. Its better than nothing, but bottom line is I don't trust Royal Mail. I feel they will still not deliver and hold the package for ransom (their handling fees etc).
  21. I bought a couple of Walker & Williams straps last year. Very happy with them. I even like them better than the Heistercamp ones. Royal Mail and uk customs are the only problem, the excessive fees have also stopped me buying StewMac stuff now. Anyway I thought I'd try and get another W&W strap but found this on their website: Okay, thatā€™s it. No more shipping to the UK Posted on December 18, 2019 by Greg Loeb Iā€™m sorry but weā€™re going to stop shipping to the UK altogether. The duties and other fees are just insane. They really, really donā€™t want you buying stuff from the US. Every day we send straps all over the world without problems, but when we ship to the UK itā€™s a problem every time. The postage is very high and then there will be fees and VAT and duties that are just as much as the postage. And then youā€™re going to get mad at us. So letā€™s just call a time-out for now.
  22. I listened to 'Crossroads' the movie soundtrack again recently. I've had the album since the 80s, but acquired it again with the Ry Cooder Soundtracks 7CD box collection. Other than Crossroads, the listen I've enjoyed most is 'Music From Alamo Bay'. I couldn't help playing along with the rockier tracks.
