  1. Well you recommended an $8,000 Les Paul which has nothing to do with the OPs interests so yeah Iā€™d say you missed the question a bit
  2. There are tailpieces with grub screws to keep the tailpiece in place without string tension. TonePros is the main brand that comes to mind Personally I just leave at least one string attached the whole time I do a string change
  3. The op basically wants a strat with a humbucker and most other options will be compromises of some sort
  4. You should expect it to be quieter in the middle position. If youā€™re using a cranked up tube amp like Peter would have then the inherent compression will lessen the volume difference
  5. One pickup can be ā€œout of phaseā€ as described in the Sam Li repair.. remember a humbucker has two coils. Weā€™re also abusing the word phase here when we should call it polarity
  6. Since the headstock is full of holes that go to bare wood it was smart to suggest avoiding water
  7. Yeah I hope heā€™s using tone lacquer on the tone wood. He could lose all that great tone
  8. I shall not allow the good name of the torta to be besmirched. They can be amazing, you just didnā€™t get a good one I think. A lot of gringos are gonna order a torta with carne asada or something. Thatā€™s kinda not the way to go. Better with carnitas or even better yet the torta cubana which has carnitas, milanesa, and a slice of ham
  9. Mineral spirits can be used on nitro. The evaporation time is slower than naphtha so itā€™s be preferable for that reason. If you use water be especially careful not to saturate the wood anywhere bare wood is exposed like inside drilled holes etc
  10. Whatā€™s your sharpening setup? Itā€™s about time I got to work on some of my chisels
  11. Yeah but we want to live vicariously through your purchase ASAP
  12. Itā€™s obviously redundant at some level but I totally get it. I have a ridiculously nice LP and I still wouldnā€™t mind having a black custom and a gold top etc etc. Everytime I see shut up n play yer guitar or nighthawk Chrisā€™ burst custom I want one of those
  13. You already have a standard with humbuckers right?
  14. A cut up hot dog with some scrambled eggs and salsa makes a nice quick little breakfast burrito
  15. Lol yup and a white whale it shall remain
  16. If the TV yellow one is the 2011 50th anniversary reissue I wanted that guitar SO BADLY when it came out. Thatā€™s like a white whale for me
  17. My mouth is watering just from reading this. Personally I have always added some fresh rosemary and thyme to the mince as well. Iā€™ve always brushed some butter to the top of the mash before it goes in the oven but egg yolk is a better idea to do the same thing Iā€™ve already done my grocery shopping for the week but Iā€™m doing your recipe next weekend for sure Iā€™ve been craving a savory pie in general. Got any tips for a curry pot pie?
  18. Best pizza Iā€™ve had was from Pequodā€™s in Chicago
  19. Iā€™m really not sure but the frets donā€™t appear to be original so Iā€™d assume some work has been done
  20. This is like a pizza review written by M Night Shyamalan. I could have never guessed that plot twist
  21. Iā€™ve tried several of the Neural amp models and the Tone King (I think thatā€™s what itā€™s called) was really usable Iā€™m really interested in something like this so I can practice with headphones without plugging in my laptop and interface and all that
  22. Iā€™m sure itā€™s a cool guitar but yeah methinks heā€™s a bit wishful with the 59 part
  23. A gold top 59? Unless it was custom ordered or refinished I donā€™t think itā€™s a 59
