Yes I agree. A lot of people out there that think they know what they’re taking about posting their stuff on public web. I just try to let whatever common sense I have to prevail in the midst of all the chaos. Rick knows music stuff no doubt, but YT has made him flourish in whatever it is he does. He has a ton of subscribers and I guess that puts the pressure on him to make videos all the time. To me, it’s like how many interesting things can you say in a video every day for the rest of your life…

I blocked his videos from going into my YouTube feed. He’s occasionally put up rant videos and all that… and I don’t understand why people want to make clickbait crap these days in their internet shared videos… a ton of YT content creators pride themselves on clickbait titles and such. I guess it’s quantity of videos over quality… Literally, titles and descriptions that aren’t true compared to the actual content… f’n stupid. But I digress, not sure why he has a signature model… maybe JC likes the way Rick looks in jeans… just guessing…

To sort of complement the OP's post from about ten months ago at this time, the way I understand this is that it may be desirable - I'm one of those that like my guitars to be like this too - where if you make the neck perfectly straight, bottom out the bridge to the body, then take a straightedge and rest it on the neck, the straightedge should just "kiss" the top of the bridge. Basically, if you have a string on the guitar and bridge is at lowest point with perfectly straight neck, you would expect that the string would just lie on the neck. Of course, I don't believe most guitars we buy are checked for this, but their machines or whatever makers use to jig out shapes and colors are just good enough apparently - and this is probably true in so much that people are liking what they get (playable guitar). This is perfect world stuff... All in all, this is the whole idea behind why a neck angle is something to pay attention to. It has a lot to do with how adjustable a bridge can be or where its "steady state" is. You could only hope that you get maximum bridge "adjustability" if the neck angle is exactly where it should be. Now we can get into talking about the tailpiece, because the higher the bridge, the higher the tailpiece is as to not have the strings touch the back of the bridge when the bridge is set at the "best" place. Comes down to neck angle though when you're talking where the bridge in the first place needs to set... Hahahaha! just kidding. I don't care how you or anyone sets up their guitar. If they don't like something, I can suggest something that might help, that's all 😀

Sure, scribble your permanent marker on my guitars finish in the name of making it worth more. If I see a guitar I like and it has some scribble on it, hard pass. Maybe for someone else - definitely not for me.

All I can say is my wife’s snoring is so bad it prevents me from sleeping. The CPAP is 100% needed in our home. We came to a point in time where I said it wasn’t fair I was losing sleep because of this. As well, snoring is something that shouldn’t be happening like she has it for medical reasons. Maybe some here share the woes I used to have… living and sleeping with a snorer is not fun. I hope I don’t snore… wife tends to tell me I don’t…

UPS is ok but they aren’t meant to run long-term. A CPAP has motor stuff going on for pumps or whatever… don’t know much but I hear it doing something with the water my wife adds to hers. A UPS is great for “interrupted” power - not to drain or standalone for hours. It takes a long time to charge them too if it has any real capacity to manage a server for instance. I run a UPS on my home workstation that serves the family. It is great when we get those times that the power lines outside the home stop delivering electricity for those brief moments - brief being long enough to shut down anything in the house plugged in the wall. I just need a few minutes for the PC to realize that the battery is in use and shut down gracefully when I get to say 80-70%. I don’t like getting down to low charge state - say 10-20%. $200 gets me a 1500VA UPS. If I drained it to 0% with my PC that consumes about 80W give or take, I don’t get that long to run really… obviously the more you use a PC the wattage goes up. But how much power does the CPAP draw is the first question to answer before identifying the solution. You need something that can deliver the power for X hours for the most robust solution.

You have increased fees along with inflation where buying used today sucks. There are no deals out there. I see guitars that cost way more today than they ever were new out the box… it’s like used cars too… I haven’t bought or sold anything since COVID with respect to gear except one guitar - and that was an experience all the way to having the guitar show up on my porch with a huge gaping hole in the box and the “excellent” condition guitar was anything but - thanks Music Zoo (Poo) on Reverb. It was becoming a mess and now it is a hot one. Maybe other people have better experience, but all I see as a buyer is overpriced crap when I search for stuff I’m interested in. But the seller now having funds locked before confirmation BS is whack. You risk shoving your $2-$3k crap stuffed in a box for some low-rent to throw it - literally - on a truck across the globe and hope to get some coin from it all, but have to wait for the scammer to not receive it… great policy guys! The biggest losers are the sellers on both these corporate entities. Once you want something, remember you’re the small fry here. You get screwed a little more at a time each time. Perhaps what they call a grift… The thing is too that people are probably raising their prices too because of the cost to list going up. We all loved eBay, then went to Reverb, now they are both “not fun” to list on. Compound this with how our world is today and you get what you see today. I choose to do what I said, not go to these sites as an avenue to sell and don’t pay for things that I really don’t need. In the end, it just costs more to list something today. This is just my rant and my gripes with those avenues. And yes very ridiculous to do what they are doing to Steve imho.

How serious is this crack… serious enough to walk away from and find another guitar to buy. Seriously… I mean could be cosmetic, but if the price is right… maybe take a risk. But if you’re not the kind of guy who can handle something like this to fix it if need be, walk away. It might not even be worth the cost to fix it - the cost of repair exceeds the value of guitar.

Geez, my dog died last Saturday… he was a 12yo 85lb gentle giant. Yeah it was hard to do the humane thing, but I know he’s not suffering anymore. I gave him the best life he could of had, but things like cancers and stuff can’t do much about. I hope you know @Guitar God that us here who know how much a dog can love their family, we sympathize with you greatly. It’s a hard loss to take, no doubt. Best wishes and it’ll get better in time. Remember the good times and what joy he brought you.

All good stuff said here. As long as the neck can be made straight, should be pretty straightforward something - and relatively minor - that can be done to make a guitar play good - or better, take your pick. Simple things like are the frets in good shape - dressing them isn’t too expensive and it makes a guitar play really good when done correctly lol! Make sure the nut slots are the right depth… little things that make a big difference; nothing major here. That Studio probably is worth putting a little money into to make it play better if it needs something as mentioned. They’re good guitars… again, the truss rod “truss rods”, and no neck cracks = good guitar.

Looks legit to me. Not too sure about the rear cover plate as there appears to be some active pickups in there or at least at some point in time an attempt to have active pickups - if not still present. My guess is that this is a mod, but could be wrong about this…

I was confused about this part: Mainly, the part where the range can be oh, just over $70 to a whopping ~$1.5k... And I didn't even get an idea of "what" is actually being sold - i.e. pictures perhaps... I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I am not going to be interested in this one bit. Well, Gibson wanted to be a lifestyle brand... Just seems sort of silly when I ponder this. Gibson makes guitars, period. I don't want to wear matching clothes that go with my guitar... But we do live in today's day and age... Perhaps someone wants to identify as a Hummingbird? And a Hummingbird guitar at that...

I made a choice a while back to get the Ram with the Hemi or the V6. Got the V6 and haven’t regretted it. I had the Hemi for a couple trucks and it does giddy up haha! But MPG was awful of course… the V6 gets me close to 22-23 which is stellar for a full size pickup. I don’t do major towing so this has done me very nicely. Have to have a truck though… super useful!

@Aaronp Another big item to look at is the break angles at the bridge and nut. If you can move the tailpiece down to increase this break as they say, it should help with this sort of thing. Also, make sure that near the nut, you have maximized this too - which I have also found to be a factor in this - where the strings are wound on the tuning machine to go lower as you add tension. I lower the tailpiece as low as it will go until the strings start hitting the bridge. Some players don't care if the strings touch the back of the bridge... I do, and I don't have strings touching the back of my bridges on my LPs. But if the string does touch the back of the bridge, that is the most (best) angle you can get anyhow. Truss rods get rid of buzzes just like raising/lowering the action. It won't get rid of that sitar sounding stuff like @kidblast mentioned or the deadened sounding notes. There's a reason that those tailpieces are adjustable...

If it looks like the guitar in the OP, then I'll pass. I think it is ugly. But that's my opinion... Who really cares what that is haha! How much I wonder for a block of wood tooled in a oblong guitar body shape with nothing special about its finish, a recycled Explorer neck only with dot inlays, and some other bridge type with what looks like a trem going to cost? Do you get a HS case with it I wonder? I like Gibson guitars, but I never buy new. But today, even buying used is a PITA. I haven't had the GAS bug in quite a while... I like the new LP Specials, just don't see wanting to spend $1800 plus tax for one. People do apparently...

Yeah, I see what you're seeing too - especially with Gibsons. It seems like nearly ANYTHING you want to buy today has a price hike... Irritating, yes. What is the reason for this mess, can't say for sure...
