What's Up Epi's Sleeve For 2014?

I couldn't find anything doing a search but that doesn't mean its not out there. If you already know of a list of the 2014 lineup or any of its components, please direct me to it. If not, let's hear what you think may be included or what you'd like to see.

I'm loving the Sorrento reissue and kick myself for not getting the Casino reissue when it was available. I'd like to see another hollow body reissue. I love me a good archtop, and the attention to detail they put into the Sorrento is outstanding. I'd be onboard for either an acoustic or electric reissue if they offered it.

What are you hoping for?

I asked them to make a specialty 6/12/mando 3 neck. You think the custom shop could do that ? [scared]

I envision a LP type, weight relieved...tone chambers, with a 4 string mandolin, a built in octave chorus effect as well as a custom case...is that feasible ?

With however many Epiphone Les Paul models and at least a few SGs available, it would be nice if Epiphone could finally turn its attention to the Firebird. By that, I mean serious attention - not another "Firebird Studio," which, whilst it might be a nice guitar, is really just a funny-shaped SG.

A through-neck on a reverse Firebird, is, in many ways, what makes that model. Non-negotiable, however, are the mini-hums. Surely Epi could come up with something that might retail amongst their higher-priced guitars, but would still be an attractive proposition - basically a decent version of a Firebird V?

Would be nice to see a non-reverse, too. An even simpler project, I'd have thought (set-neck, 3 P90s or mini-hums, don't even have to worry about banjo tuners with a non-reverse - mini-Grovers or similar would do just fine).

A bit sad in a way...wasn't 1963 the year the Gibson Firebird was first introduced? 50 years ago? 2013 could have been Epi's "Year of the Firebird" or something.

I appreciate Firebirds will always be less popular than Les Pauls and SGs, but I'm willing to bet there is still a pretty huge market for a decent, affordable version of this habitually expensive guitar.

...if only from people who aspire to play in Stones' cover bands... [biggrin]

I'm with you brother. I would absolutely love epi to bring out a non reverse firebird. I keep trying to save for a gibson but something always gets in the way. A more affordable epi version would be great. I'd snap one up right away!

The post dated 12/24 on the Epi site under "Features" closes with the following paragraph…

"We can't wait to tell you what's coming in 2014. Thanks to all of our artists and fans like you who inspire us everyday. We had a spectacular 140th birthday year. Now, onto 141."

Maybe we'll be seeing something soon. [thumbup]

don't be coy, epi, show us what ya got!

Oh indeed, I'm desperate to buy my first Epi (likely a Sheraton 2) but I don't want to spend the money I have in case I miss out on something really cool from the 2014 line-up! Problem is, the money I have is burning a hole in my pocket [cursing]
