We can "drop" the liberal volunteers into Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and France and allow them to "help" those target countries. It's a win-win-win plan for everyone involved. The libs and the jihadists can fight each other to see which ideology ruins...I mean wins each target country and the regular Americans can work and enjoy the fruits of our own labor in a country free from socialism. (if by "regular americans" you meant hard working, responsible, tax paying, honest, what-we-used-to-call-normal people... if you meant octomoms then they are the majority not only of the USA but of the entire world). It may be a long wait.[/quote'] i seem to recall a few news stories toward the end of the election having to do with PRESIDENT OBAMA garnering (significantly?) more votes from our active military than his opponent. i wonder what that says to you about a liberal's willingness to step up to the plate on such matters. and, on a personal note, i also wonder why, when you visit the acoustic forum here at Gibson, you bemoan the (low) level of discourse here in the lounge yet, when i read some of your thoughts here, you seem to be a gleeful participant in the mud slinging. i suppose it's naive of me to think that folks who share a common bond in their love of Gibson's (not to mention being countrymen) would find it preferable to treat each other and each other's ideas, with respect. that's clearly naive and not the case. heck, i've been guilty of boorish behavior here, myself. i guess hanging out in this political abattoir brings out the worst in folks. anyway, for me, it has **** all to do with guitars so, i will repair to the more genteel and friendly environs of the acoustic forums where i will attempt to remain. that isn't to say that, like passing a car accident, i won't crane my neck for a peek now and then, but i'll keep moving on. have fun and be secure in the knowledge that all the inflammatory rhetoric will change nothing about the new reality. and jaw-jacking about politics in the ether is time lost playing your Gibson. cheerio! I know that God did not intend for it to be that way. Was it in the D. Spock infant formula or watching too much idiot TV (Cay-oo??) Is it the near idiot teachers in middle school? Or the ideologues teaching H.S.? Or the wannabee professors in "community college" who read the same their PBS notes from 35 and 50 years ago? How does someone come to believe that 6 billion humans won't create carbon dioxide (and why is it THE LIBERALS won't commit suicide and reduce the carbon dioxide -- if they really loved us like they say they do then it is not too much to ask). Why is it that the liberals (Kennedy, Hillary, Gore, Kerry, Fonda, Streisand, all-movie-stars NEVER agree to re-distribute THEIR money -- just ours?). Why do liberals "help" after a disaster by having a rock festival and donating 10% of what they make to the cause and keep 90% for expenses? I do not understand why liberals insist on having a car and a furnace in their house. They ought to have learned to keep warm by wearing Eskimo clothes and walking to work. They ought to be willing to put their money where their mouth is -- especially the rich ones -- they ought be able to hire an Eskimo village to make their clothes and heat their house with body heat. Hot water? Well that requires fire. They can wait until summer to bathe -- it won' kill them. They'd stink, but that's nothing new. Why can't liberals donate their pony tail to stem cell research? They expect everyone else to donate organs and cells and eyeballs. What's wrong with them? Also their piercing pins and tattoos .. that ought to glean a fortune for the poor and the down trodden. Liberals ought to be able to fore go health care for their fellow man. Humans got along without health care for 11 million years. It's only the last 30 years or so that doctors could cure anything. Liberals could watch documentaries about Australian aborigines and Sudanese tribesmen and learn how to do without health care. They are smart -- so they say -- and can learn how to do it. We'd donate the rattles and the tom-toms and liberals already know the mantras (and many already have pierced noses) (you can pull teeth with a string and a door knob -- that's a form of universal health care). I have not met any liberals who will "work for food" though; they'd rather tax for food. They also want to tax for health care. They expect the union to provide all of their needs from they day of employment to their death (prolonged by VA-like health care). They expect non-liberals to listen to them whine about how bad they have it standing in line for government food, government housing, government education grants, government job training, government EEO protection, government ADA protection, government workman's comp payments ... they need the government help, of course, to pay for court ordered rehab programs, fines and restitutions, probation hearings, urine catheters for their pot test day, methadone treatments, court ordered AA meetings, and for legal defense for driving under revokation. They need the legal aid expenses to keep their apartments they refuse to pay for, to get their car back from the cops after it was confiscated at a check point, to get their paycheck when they don't pay child support, to sue their employer for a free retirement after getting job-related pimples from long coffee breaks (and longer lunch breaks). New speakers (Bose) - new laptops for each of us (Apple) - new bedroom furniture (wife picked it out - don't know the brand). You political debaters can figure out where our money went by buying those brands, but I sure as h*ll stimulated somebody this month! Now get out there and buy some s**t!
