Another artist who deserves to be ravaged by critics....

For years I have enjoyed sharing clips of artist from all corners of the music world, O'Donovan is a remarkably talented singer, obviously influenced by her Irish roots, No doubt she will remind many of Alison Krause and Joni Mitchell.

Aofie writes her own songs (most of them) see what you think,

So let the *****ing begin.

Does a good enough job.  I get your reference to the Krause/Mitchell influence.

What I don't get is your "Deserves to be ravaged by critics" statement.  The rest of your text makes it seem you like her.

Do music critics still exist? And if so, why? I know what I like, and don’t like when it comes to music. If every critic gave Kangay West (The Gay Fish) or Ye, or whatever his name is this week great reviews on his new album, I still wouldn’t listen to it. I haven’t read an album review of an artist in years.

One more comparison:  Rickie Lee Jones

I like it.  Most of the stuff I've seen on Tiny Desk I have liked.

With a dash of Sherrill Crow.

MUCH better that the awful version done(or done in) by Glen Hansard  during the 75th birthday celebration of Joni.----------

Somehow a man singing this made no sense to me.

She does have a great voice. I hear a bit of Joni in her voice when they are obviously doing the Joni songs posted. Rickie Lee, maybe, Allison Krause, not so much.

Looks like she as a small bodied all Hog Collings guitar.

It looks like that guy that tried to steal Murphs mando is on one of the clips.

Still don't know why Jaxon thinks Ms. O'Donovan deserves to be "ravaged" by critics.

Jaxson50 has a dry sense of humor.

Sounds like 99% of new music today in the non-rap genre's...just my opinion.

Well maybe if she spewed forth racist stuff she could be the first crossover Joni Mitchell copycat singing rap.

Good eye.

Chris Thile hosted 'Live From Here" for awhile.

He's a gifted musician and owns TWO (2) Loars.

I think she’s pretty damn good.  Real easy to listen-to.  She has one of those very gentle and relaxing voices that sounds so sweet to me.  Songs that are on the quiet side fit nicely in her wheelhouse and I suspect she can handle a lot more.
