retrosurfer1959
The old forum had a post that showed the number of guitars in your collection I got flamed pretty bad for the count but it's always fun to know how many other crazies are out there. Bluefin made me brave with his guitar center looking avatar so I thought Id post it again I'll even start Retrosurfer1959 kinda says im not 17 so Ive been at this awhile Total collection 53 guitars, I started my collection in 1975 with a telecaster, first Gibson was a 1977 L6-2 Les Pauls - 7 Total Gibson - 16 acoustic 8 Amps 10-12 If I had to pick a favorite it would be hard but today at least: Les Paul my favorite is a 2006 faded Honeyburst 50's neck Acoustic main player J-185 and a Custom McPherson in Koa and Adirondak Favorite semi Hollow - ES-335 in cherry and sorry guys a Taylor T5 in Koa Newest guitars - Taylor Custom Solidbody, Gibson Studio BFG (Black) and a Godin Montreal Favorite Amp Marshall Stack - Most Played amp A Nanoamp .5 minihead and a custom 2x12 cabinet. Recording equipment ProTools and Macintosh system and to start or maybe stop the arguments I don't play as a professional I have in the past but like many I now work in tech field and this is a hobby or obsession I probably have had 250 guitars on and off over the last 35 years and have traded sold and even built guitars fairly heavily for the last 10-15. some of you look have some pretty nice guitars so how many and what's your favorite ???? T50
I haven't been playing for a long time or accumulated a large collection. But here's what I have so far: 98 Les Paul Classic Plus - Trans Amber (my favorite at the moment) 01 SG Standard - Cherry 07 Les Paul Custom - Black 96 G&L Classic Assat - Trans "Orange"(?) 07 Jackson DKMG EMG81/85 - Black (gotta get rid of this one... anyone intersted?) I used to have an Ampeg Dan Armstrong plexi guitar from the early 90s, but it had to go to make room for 98 LP CP. Marshall JCM2000 Combo
Tim Plains
Well, compared to retrosurfer, I "only" have eight guitars. 07 LP Custom - Silverburst 06 LP Standard - Desertburst 07 LP BFG - Trans Black 07 SG Standard - Cherry 07 SG w/EMG - Satin Black 07 ES-335 - Antique Teaburst...I call it T-bag JCM2000 DSL100 Marshall Stack, Cabs A & B - Silver Favorite? Visually, the silverburst for sure!! Playability-wise, I don't have a favorite. I don't believe in "the one" that a lot of people refer to. I really like the different feel and sound each guitar has to offer. I also have a Fender Strat and an A&L accoustic. The strat hasn't seen the light of day in a long, long time. I'll probably get rid of it when the time comes for another LP. Come on June...I can't wait!! R8 BABY...maybe R9!!

cgarlie
Like Tim, I have "only" 8 -- Gibson HD.6X (Digital Les Paul) Parker Deluxe w/ RMC (for midi or synth interface) Gibson '83 Lucille SRV Custom Strat "Claptonized" 60th Anniversary Strat (I blocked the trem and add mid-range boast circuit) PRS Swamp Ash Special (prototype) (Original -- 1969) Dan Armstrong "See-through" Burns Shadows Custom (for surfing instrumentals only;-) For just tone, you can't beat Lucille or the SRV (depending on which way you want to go.) For playability, you can't beat (or even touch) the Parker. Waiting for an interface to really explore the HD.6X -- that should be really interesting. thetimecircus
Les Paul Standard Honey Burst Les Paul Standard Gold Top SG Gordie Johnson Signature with P-94's pickguard signed by Big Sugar Lucille signed by BB King, in hindsight I would have had him sign the pick guard instead of the guitar but oh well. Organic Standard DC http://www.organicguitars.co.uk/ PRS Single Cut Gold Top Shitty Ibanez archtop Crappy Classical guitar, don't even know the brand Crappy Anjo acoustic guitar So I guess that makes it big number 9 if you want to count the last three! Actually 10 because I also have a ukelele too but oddly I never seem to find time to play it... Years collecting? Maybe 15 years since I've been scraping together enough money to buy some decent guitars. Use? These aren't museum pieces - I like to play all of my guitars. If they're worth something later on then so be it, but life's too short to have nice guitars sitting around in a case "don't touch"! Favorite? The Gibsons, and that says a lot since the PRS and Organic are pretty amazing guitars too.
flyingarmadillo
I guess 8 is a popular number that's what I have right now, although I'm pretty sure I'll pick up a bass in the next month or so and the list is by no means static. LPVM worn cherry SG '61 reissue classic white (week 26 GOW) Fender American Deluxe 50th Ann. The favorite is the 12 string, followed by the Strat and the SG. Really started the collection about 6 years ago. Started playing in 1962 on a Stella. daveinspain
I just started collecting Oct. 2007 by accident. I bought a LP Classic at Guitar Center, Boston, to resell in Spain for a profit. Problem is I got hooked on it and deceided to keep it and learn how to play. Since then I bought a Robot Guitar and a 1971 SG Standard with lyre Maestro tremolo... I love them all! I just ordered an accoustic guitar made in Spain by a company called Alhambra, they make great guitars. It´s the Luthier model and it will take a few months to build. I´ll post pics this summer... 2007 LP Classic heritage cherry sunburst 2007 Robot Guitar 1971 Gibson SG Standard

Hydra26
Well, I couldn't really afford to have new domesticaly produced guitars until maybe 3 years ago or so. It started out as me thinking I should own at least one Gibby sometime in my life after playing my friend's LP and I got hooked. In chronological order, the guitars I still have: ...and then raptor made a good point. I'd hate to have to shoot an intruder. I'll jsut say then that I have got some explorers I really like. Raptor
Just something to think about. A lot of people here were concerned about people posting their serial numbers, and how it could help criminals to produce more accurate fakes. What about advertising to countless people, look at all the stuff I have, now come and find me? It is one thing to post a pic now and then of guitars you may or may not own presently, but I don't think it is a good idea to put up itemized lists. Just something to think about, and to explain why my answer to threads like this (if I reply at all) is. A bunch, and for a while.

GuitarJunkie
I have a young daughter and figured one day she'd get a kick out of this. At least that's what I told my wife in order to get another guitar into the house. This christmas, my wife bought me the matching black one... My band has a gig coming up in 3 weeks. The other guitar player and I are going to both use them together on one song. Probably something fairly rockin', like Detroit Rock City. :D/
