Gilliangirl
If I was David' date=' [b']I would be doing the same thing and be proud of it[/b]. Consensual that is... Cheating on your spouse multiple times and breaking up marriages is something to be proud of? Every single one of those women probably had spouses too. Every single man of every single woman who worked with David Letterman is now wondering if it was his wife/girlfriend who had an affair. How do you think that'll affect peoples' relationships. Not something to be proud of, IMHO.

I used to laugh when, years ago, they said women should never be in the workplace because they were 'ruled by their hormones too much.' Well, if any gender is ruled by their hormones, it's men, not women.

For all we know, his now-wife was aware of these things. We don't even know when it happened - it was probably not during the short time they've been married, and it may not have even been during the time his son has been alive. No, he wasn't married, but he's been living with the same woman since 1980. Regina something-rather. That sounds like a committment to me. I don't know about the women, tho'. My guess is that some of them were likely married or in committed relationships. It just seems to me like our moral fabric is gone. And everyone uses the excuse that they're *weak*. Whatever. I'm proud to say I've never cheated on any of my significant others. Ever. Nor would I.

saturn
I'm not saying it's right, what he did. But I would be more surprised if a person of high celebrity status didn't take advantage of the opportunities that their position afforded them. If it turns out that he coerced them, I would feel a little more strongly about it.
jaxson50
We may not know when this happened, but that information will come out. The man who tried to blackmail Dave is scum. He will go to trial and have his day in court. This is not over for Dave, it's just starting. GG is dead on with her points. This is exactly why there are rules regarding sexual harassment and work place relationship's. He did state specifically that he had relations in his office.. This takes the behavior to a whole different level. It's one thing to have a affair with a co-worker away from the work place, it's a whole different situation when the relationship is between a employer and their subordinates at the work place. I'm not going to rehash the Clinton - Lewinski affair, but there are similarities. Many Presidents have had indiscretions, I'm only aware of one who chose the Oval Office as ground zero. That would indicate to me, someone gets a rush from high risk behavior, the thrill of maybe being caught, or the thrill of being a powerful man in a powerful position and taking advantage of the situation. Power is the most powerful aphrodisiac, and that is why there are laws regarding work place behavior.
