Two nations separated by one language and all that..........

#15 and #18? you skipped #16 and #17.

A joke, but in reality, they let us get away with so much sometimes we even forget the rules, and then we think it is being selective.

I think, for the MOST part, they only enforce the rules when they see there may be a problem, and choose not to enforce the rules when it seems no problem.

To be fair, I think the thing with the AGF forum and the fun we were having has more to do with the fact it is a competing forum. It may be ok to bash ourselves, but for others that may want to visit us from the AGF side, seeing us bashing on them, would not look too inviting.

Now, I am going to eat some leftover fried chicken, some ribs, pie, and smoke a cigarette. Then I have to clean my truck out and get ready for work.

From The Dictionary of Slang (English slang and colloquialisms used in the United Kingdom)

http://www.peevish.co.uk/slang/

dog's bollocks Noun. The best. E.g."This song is the dog's bollocks." Cf. 'cat's whiskers', 'bee's knees' and 'mutt's nuts'.

Sounds ok to me.

I've lately had several posts dissappear...WITHOUT explanation.....AND entire threads are just vanishing???!!!.....What the heck is going on???

Not sure! But with the more stringent "political correctness" police on the prowel, this forum has begun to be quite boring!

That, and the lack of ksdaddy's(Scott's) awesome wit and input, has been a terrible loss for me, personally, when browsing the forum!

GGirl (Karen) was also a great 'centering soul' whom I enjoyed reading [thumbup] ....all gone!

I have been flamed by PM by another member who suggested that other members were in concurrence with his feelings. This did not even dignify a response by me. I really don,t care. +:-@

I have plenty to do, between working, playing guitar and repairing electronics and amps.

I will glean from the forum what interest me, respond when appropriate, and fuggettaboutit, when necessary.... B)

Hi, I'm not sure if you mean by PM a Personal Message, or if it's a reference to me as my name is parlourMan, some other members refer to me as PM. I don't believe I have flamed yourself or any one on here actually, I tend not get into internet stand-offs.

No, ParlourMan, I was not referring to you. It was a Personal Message from another member.

Happened to me also. I started a thread in the classifieds and the entire thread vanished after a few days. No explanation.. nothing.

I've had a couple of posts immediately deleted. in the past.

I happen to think the young girl on the Blind Faith album cover looks a lot like Tal Wilkenfeld, so whenever the discussion comes up

about female bass players, or Tal herself, I'd post a pic of the album cover along with a pic of Tal.....

and make some smart-aleck remark.

I even found the album comer with the young girls naughty bits covered up, but it still got deleted.

I fully understand....but I hate to miss out on a good joke!

An analogy which might be of some interest if not use.

I have been a life-long cricket fan. The spirit in which the game is played is more important than the rules; a philosophy that is taught to young cricketers as soon as they start playing. That said, the art of "sledging" (or insulting one's opponent while not breaching the spirit of the game) is a feature of the game where players can let off team and have a good laugh at the same time.

My favourite sledge involves Glenn McGrath, the legendary former Australian Test bowler and Eddo Brandes, a portly Zimbabwean batsman:

Mcgrath: "Hey Eddo, why are you so fat?"

Eddo Brandes: "Because everytime I **** your wife, she throws me a biscuit"

Apparently the Aussies were laughing uncontrollably for several minutes afterwards.

Albertjohn....good to see your handsome mug back in the forum after such a long while.....I trust all is well with you and your guitar playing and gigs????

Hey Rob. All's great thanks. Yep playing and gigging semi regularly. 2 last weekend and 2 this weekend too. Hope you and yours are good too. Can't get on the Forum at my new job (Feb this year) so I have become a stranger. Day off at home so trying to catch up on a few things.

I see the sense of humour hasn't improved!!

Cheers old boy!
