Well, I don't know about the "good man," bit...but, thanks!

Did you get the referrence? "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" is a musical comedy from the late 60's based on the Peanuts characters. My mother used to sing the theme song to me as a kid.

Here's my two. I sold my Standard MIC Casino and got the 50th Annie with the proceeds.

I had to go thru 3 of them to get a good one. It is nice & I will keep it just for fun. ( Dang, I'd better get the windex out and clean those dirty mirrors & get the tile in above the fireplace brass door set. Looks really tacky and detracks from the natural beauty of the fine Casino in frt. of it). [biggrin]

I have to say & do like my Elitist the best if I had to have just one. It does sound great, plays really easy/smooth for me. I likes it!! I like to look at the color of the case fur with the sunburst too!

Very nice Aster, [thumbup]

That '61 re-issue is stunning, Is that the Royal Tan? Most pictures I see of the Royal Tan shows it with a slightly reddish burst colour, and on others more of a tan colour. How does the '61 compare to the Elitist?

Here's mine! This one is also unique to me.

It's a 2006 MIC Casino. I refinished it in Nitro in a Royal Tan - Cherry Sunburst esque finish.

Learned a lot about spraying in the process definitely a fun and time consuming project.

It's got a Gibson P-90 in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan P-90 in the neck.

Oh and to give it that vintage vibe..I added the "foil" Epsilon to the pickguard.

Oh and here's my ES-335 that I got this Christmas!

Hi Clanky,

It IS a Royal Tan and I love the color finish. While I like the Annie a lot, the biggest difference is in the fit & finish of the two guitars. Elitist 65 Casino is the winner hands down. The case is MUCH better as well. Had 2 bad cases (cheap made looks good on the Annie). The Elitist case is beautiful (to me anyway) in finish & construction. The two guitars play a bit different ( haven't looked into it yet but will someday soon) and the Pup's sound a fair amount different. I think the Annie has plastic covers vs. metal covers. Again, I was getting guitars in and finding something wrong 3 times & then made one keeper from three sent (one really nice keeper). I don't think they have very good method or template to locate & drill the T logo. All three were off, tilted one side or the other (not all the same "off" either). Picked the closest to being straight and then fixed. I then got into Christmas time and, returned the other 2 flawed ones, and put my keeper away as I was crushed with work & holidays.

I'll get it out in the next week or two & update my note or maybe make a new post if this hasn't been covered already if any interest.

Red, as always, those are three beautiful Musketeers for sure!! Would love that USA J Lennon!!!

Anthony, Good looker and would like to hear more about the finish job you did!!!

This guitar had the headstock completely broken off, but I had it fixed. Guitar and case $125.00, repair $100.00. So I got a nice Casino for about $225.00. The crack repair was done by a good local luthier. It looks like it will hold up and not break again any time too soon.. I guess time will tell. I also relaced the Epiphone tuners with Grover (Gibson)ones (they were included in the case). As for now, I got a rockin' Epiphone Casino(with case)and better tuners for small change

Your guitar was made at the

Qingdao Plant (Epiphone), China

October 2007

Production Number: 1531

The Gibson Qingdao Plant was opened in October 2002, Qingdao, China. It is the only plant run by Epiphone in Asia. Both acoustic and electric guitars are made here. The factory is dedicated to making Epiphone and only Epiphone guitars with the aim of producing higher quality guitars.

Anthony J, that Casino turned our really nice! I also love that Gibson ES-335

Tell me, how did you get a chrome Gibson P-90 cover to fit I was told they cannot be put on the non USA Casinos?

Thanks, C4L!

It was quite simple to get those Gibson P-90s to fit. I just made the "E" and "A" polepiece holes on the cover larger.

Got a drill bit, drilled it a little bigger and voilà! It fit!

Taking the old asian made Epiphone P-90s off of the covers was the hard part. They're not soldered on they're like welded on or something. Had to get a dremel to cut the baseplate brackets off.

BACK ON TOPIC:

Man, fellas! We've got some great looking guits!

Beautiful Guitar GD!!!

The leather "Bubba" chair is really great too!! Nothing like that after a hard session with the Casino!! [thumbup]

Is the color a natural or more of a solid cream color like the photo appears? It really looks like a huge $$ git to me from the photo. If the cream color, how you get that boss?

Red, had I not decided years ago to be cremated, when my days are done here, I would want to be buried in a case, I mean, casket, that was 1/2 as nice as that J Lennon USA sunburst Casino sleeps in. I guess I could have my ashes thowed into one and have "it both ways!" [smile]

Just took this new photo and I liked the way it turned out. Thought I would post it again.

Beautiful guitar. The grain in the wood is very "subdued", which I like a lot. Nice picture, with the complimentary colors, and all.

Casino4Life said I love that Epiphone vibrato. Wish I could find one

If I happen across one, I will send you a PM

But to make you suffer once again, here is my 1997 MIK (Peerless) Casino with it's factory Epi VibraTone. I purchased the guitar new back in 97.

The only upgrade I made to my Casino was to add these Gotoh SD 90 MG "Magnum Lock" tuners, with nickel butter-bean buttons. These "drop in" locking tuners are the best IMHO. Can actually obtain and maintain a precise tuning.

This is a great great guitar. What see can I say. Love the thing.

Been playing it now much more that my other guitars . It has had only one neck adjustment in 15 years, and that was a few weeks ago,, and it was only 1/4 turn up. Solid as a tank.

Aster,

Thanks. She is a very light natural - lighter than others that I have seen. The chair is my main napping spot in the man cave/guitar room.
