I'm going way back to 75. It would easily have to be Roxy Roller by Sweeney Todd. Number 1 in the Canadian charts for 3 weeks.

I was 14 at the time and this was about the coolest song we were listening to. This is the biggest one hit wonder I can think of.

After this one I might put Black Betty by Ram Jam in second. I don't think they did much after that tune.

Ahhh . . . guilty pleasures. Here's one of my favs - The Breakup Song by the Greg Kihn Band. It went to #15 in '81. They had a #2 in '83 with Jeopardy, which had the distinction of being parodied by Weird Al. So kind of a two-hit wonder. This live version really shows of the bar band quality of this gem.

Unfortunately he had a few others ... mostly due to soundtracks

 

Ok.. two hit wonder :)

 

I know the film Cadyshack (classic) but im not sure it was a hit (certainly not over here).. Footloose however was massive..

 

Wonder what hes up to now (not) :)
