  1. "Mercury Blues"--Steve Miller Whitefang
  2. You should consider moving here to Southeast Michigan. There's practically a Little Caesar's on every corner. They're a lot better than they were back in the "day" though. And a good price too. Of all the franchise pizza's here, Hungry Howie's has the better variety for the price. And they offer a choice of flavored crusts. Almost all the Pizza Huts are gone. And personally, I always thought Domino's sucked. And Jet's isn't bad either. The best in Lincoln Park used to be Vito's. But since he moved from his original location and added pool tables and video arcade games the pizza started to suffer. But everybody has their likes and dislikes and personal favorites. I like Caesar's OK, but more prefer Andy's or the pizza from Zukin's Rib shack(best ribs Downriver), but there's those I know that don't like either of those places. Whitefang

  4. For the same reason someone buys a KIA SOUL. Or gets a Pit Bull as a pet. Some people LIKE ugly. (could be why my wife married me.) Whitefang
  5. They're(not there) not MY heathens. I don't mind pineapple on pizza. But it really isn't a "must" for me. It depends on my mood. But cheese, ham and mushrooms are a must. And I can switch between ham or pepperoni. In fact, the only pizza topping I won't stand for is....... Anchovies. 😝 Whitefang
  6. Now that don't sound like any kind of country song. Whitefang
  7. Would more so if it said,-- "Don't play guitar in cheap jeans in a cheap Mexican whammy bar." Whitefang
  8. I have an old iron skillet that was my Grandma's. I have a be-yotch of a time cooking anything in it. She had no problem making omelettes in the damned thing. But she used to make her living as a cook, among waiting tables, seamstress work, and welding tank floors during WWII. But I'm doggedly determined to get better at using it. I've tried those "non-stick" skillets you see on TV ads all the time. Threw all of them away. They make it seem that nothing sticks to them. I had trouble finding anything that wouldn't stick to them. Whitefang
  9. "Time Has Come Today"--Chambers Brothers Whitefang
  10. Two old men are sitting together at a small restaurant pouring over the menu. One old man looks up and says to the other.... "What the Hell is this slop?" and the other asks, "What?" And the first old man says, "This here on the menu. 'Soup du jour.' What the Hell IS that?" And the other old man says, "Oh, I've had that before. It's chicken." Whitefang
  11. Maybe the mods don't LIKE good ideas 'round here? Whitefang
  12. Say, you any relation to DAN QUAYLE? (remember the "potatoe" incident?) OK, so you never touched ketchup after seeing how they treated the tomatoes. I'd imagine it'd be similar to what apples go through in the making of applesauce. So, did you give THAT up too? How would that give you nightmares? The screaming the tomatoes did? And since you no longer touch ketchup, does that also include CATSUP? Heh. "Tomato factory". sounds more like a place where they would MAKE them! Whitefang
  13. Very good. I've heard(and read) complaints over the years that some didn't like Strats because their necks were too narrow, which meant the strings were too close together for the fat sausage like fingers on their hammy hands to easily finger chords or play solos. And too, other griping about the LPs necks being too wide. Then still some not liking how thick the neck is, from the fret board to the back of the neck(or nape, if you will). And I would think that between the headstock and the guitar body would be the neck's length, not girth. From Merriam-Webster: girth 1 of 2 noun ˈgərth 1 : a band or strap that encircles the body of an animal to fasten something (such as a saddle) on its back 2 a : a measure around a body a man of more than average girth the girth of a tree And too, this humility noun hu·mil·i·ty hyü-ˈmi-lə-tē yü- : freedom from pride or arrogance : the quality or state of being humble accepted the honor with humility The ordeal taught her humility. 14. Then there's the question; "Do you smoke after sex?" to which I answer: "I don't know. I never looked." Whitefang
  15. "Cow-Cow Boogie"--The Ink Spot w/ Ella Fitzgerald Whitefang
  16. When I was 13 I was immersed in the "British Invasion", which began(for me) when my favorite radio station(and still AM then) played "I Want To Hold Your Hand" in Dec. '63. It's also when I just started expanding my tastes from that '60's folk music craze. My stack of 45s was a mix of The Kingston Trio, Phil Ochs, Chuck Berry, John Loudermilk, Lonnie Mack, Travis Wammack, The Chantels, The Beach Boys, and some Beatles, Stones and The Animals. The Contours and a bunch I no longer recall. Whitefang
  17. Well, it does sound as if when you were ten your music choices were more varied than when I was ten. Or at least more "hip". But we did have Chuck Berry, Elvis, Ricky Nelson and Roy Orbison and The Beach Boys to counter all the other crap on top 40 AM radio back then. Whitefang
  18. And didn't the strings on that gold top at the end of the clip appear really loose? And yeah, width would be how wide the neck is, and "girth" would be how thick. And what I'm getting from the clip is that LP necks increase ever so slightly in width from nut to 12th(and likely beyond), which is something I've never noticed. Whitefang
  19. "I've Been Working"--Van Morrison Whitefang
  20. Not really liking Jeff's playing on this one. Solo was really unimpressive. And I noticed Seal chose to correctly pronounce "frustrating", unlike Jimi, who, as you'll recall, pronounced it "fustrating". which is a common gaffe. I'd have preferred if Seal kept it "pure". I mean, you wouldn't sing the grammatically correct, "I can't get any, satisfaction." would you? Whitefang
  21. Then call it a "Gut knife" and not a "hunting" knife. I don't hunt, but those I know who do usually don't gut their kills on the spot. One brother in law would get his kill to a place he knows that guts, skins and processes the venison for him. Knew the guy all his life and need only to pay him a case of beer.. Whitefang Twinkies are in season year 'round here and can be easily found at any gas station that has a "mini-mart"(which is damn near all of them). But they don't(and never did) come in boxes, but placed on a small card and wrapped in cellophane. Whitefang
