This has to be the most ridiculous pedal I've ever seen.

My inner EDM lover is like YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!~~!@#@!%$T^$Q!~~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the noises so much [crying]

but how does it work with the guitar? [mellow]

It doesn't... You would use it as background noise or an intro of a song perhaps...

You can hear the same effect in the intro on this Emerson Lake and Palmer cut from the 70's...

One for the Trekkies amongst us, methinks!..........."It's an effects pedal, Jim, but not as we know it!"

'Intriguing' would seem to be the mot juste.

I can imagine how it could be a lot of fun (for a player if not an audience) to improvise along with that thing on the lower-speed settings.

I rather like it!

My inner EDM lover is...

Sorry if this seems an obvious question, Izzy, but what is an EDM?

Excellent post !!

Moi has a penchant for this kind of thing...

Hearing Pink Floyd, Brian Eno, Roxy Music, Jimi Hendrix et al

A very imaginative demo for EHX products

The climax with the two RTG's was something special... [thumbup]

Yes, there was a very strong hint of "Echoes" from 'Meddle' in there.

Trying to reproduce the songs made with a pair of RTG's note for note live might present a bit of a challenge, though!

Sorry if I was vague, Pip. [tongue]

EDM is short for Electric Dance Music, also called Electronica by music industry people who commercialized the genre in the late 90s.

Encompases Techno, Trance, Breakbeat, and House among other sub-genres. [cool]

Not sure I can get behind a device you would have to totally disregard the guitar to play. But the Theremin seems really cool to me because you can actually use while playing guitar. The video below just scratches the surface of how sound is controlled with one.

I built a ring modulator once, this made me think of that at first. But reading further, EHX makes one of those too, the "Ring Thing".

They've made the Frequency Analyzer for decades which is an analog ring mod. The Ring Thing is digital (and also very cool).

Neither of which are even remotely similar to this pedal lol

Tman if you think this is cool you should check out some sequencers. Kinda the same sound but you can actually control it and repeat it.

Thanks again for this post/thread...

There are IMO many ways to be creative with random notes...as evinced from that superb demo video... [thumbup]

Perhaps as a 'holiday' for the brain after the constraints of accurate guitar playing... <_<

For moi, the thought of genuine non-repetitive note streams is appealing

With their obvious possibilities in meditation and alpha wave facilitation...

I have enjoyed EHX pedals for a long time... [thumbup]

So I ordered 2 RTG's yesterday and await with bated breath their arrival today...

To be connected to an EHX Micro-Synth, Memory Man, Muff, POG etc

Oh yes indeed !!
