jaxson50 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 We lost another one.. http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=886883
kidblast Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I saw this on the CNN web site this morning. Guy had a great voice.
capmaster Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 This is sad. Another distinctive voice of rock has passed away. :( R.I.P., Jimi.
rct Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Honestly, after Eye Of The Tiger they fell off the radio. I couldn't pick this guy out of a lineup, he was after the big hit. rct
kelly campbell Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I agree I did not who he was but it is still too bad...who was the original was it reno??
rct Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I agree I did not who he was but it is still too bad...who was the original was it reno?? No man, Reno was, and I think still is, Loverboy. rct
saturn Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 The singer of Survivor is dead! Would that be irony? What, too soon?
kelly campbell Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 No man, Reno was, and I think still is, Loverboy. rct thats right sorry but I never really go into either very much...still sad
quapman Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 The singer of Survivor is dead! Would that be irony? What, too soon? Lol,, not for me... but I'm a little twisted. Nor did I like them at all. I think I may still have their greatest hits album on 45 somewhere. Condolences to his family and friends.
milod Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Wouldn't have recognized either the man or the music. But from my perspective 63 is awfully young to go. Heck, I wish I were only 63. The music biz is no easy calling, even for those who have made it work for them instead of entirely the other way around. m

kidblast Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 The singer of Survivor is dead! Would that be irony? What, too soon? LOL!
deeman Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 So the guy that replaced the singer in a one hit wonder band after the one hit died?
Riffster Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 In all fairness Survivor had a few songs on the radio back in the day. The one hit wonder is not very literal sometimes.
Riffster Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Burning Heart, another Rocky movie hit has about 20 million views on YouTube, not too bad. Incredibly there are more than 80 million views for Eye Of The Tiger if you count all versions uploaded, I mean nothing, nothing is going to compare to that. There are probably only a handful of songs in American Rock History that have that kind of success. Man, I wish I was a one hit wonder with that kind of success. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kc71KZG87X4
Riffster Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 There was some other stuff like High On You and I Can't Hold Back.
rct Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 There's like, 50 ex members of Survivor. I think I was in that band for a night. They were suing Sony for miscounting their royalties this year, and they were going to tour the original singer and Jamison this year. rct
Tman Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 They were suing Sony for miscounting their royalties this year, rct That kind of stress can surely lead to a heart attack, I would think. RIP
