This is my 1987 Studio Standard. These were made for a few years in the 80s. These have a bound body and fretboard like a Standard, but have dot fretboard inlays and a slightly thinner body than a Standard. Original bulletproof "chainsaw" case too. Guitar is in amazing condition and plays and sounds great.vIMG_2568.jpgvIMG_2569.jpgIMG_2572.jpgIMG_2575.jpg

Nice guitar! She looks like an old (souped up) cadillac!

Thank you very much, its funny for me to see that old picture though since the guitar looks very different now. It has gone threw several reincarnations over the last pile of years. Currently its got a bit of a stripped down 70's custom vibe going on.

Here is my new Les Paul Studio Faded in Worn Brown....

It´s a 2011 with maple top and burstbucker Pro...

Nice Rock Guitar. Next step: Find the right Pickups for my music. It´s rock somewhere between Foo Fighters and 30 Seconds to Mars, any idea for thr right Pickup ?

Not at the moment, it may be at some point, but this one seems to really be a good fit for me neck wise(thin). Had an SG Standard and a Fireburst Studio but the necks seemed too "baseball bat" or thick, I need a thinner 60s style neck, which this has.

Nice top on your brown faded. Looks almost spalted.

Give those pups time - experiment with amp/effects settings. All Gibson pickups are good.

Your pickups are just fine for that. Look more on the Amp side of things for the Foo/ 30 seconds tone.

If your looking for Foo specifically, Mesa Rectifier/Mesa Lonestar is what you want. But be ready to spend 1K used 2K new.

Though I am sure any amp with the right pedals can achieve that. I prefer Mesa myself.

Lots of cool studios here . Glad to join in with my first ever Gibson guitar , my 2010 studio worn brown with burstbuckers pro.

You can always create a photo bucket account and link the image from the photobucket account.

OK, here we go again. Most people have already seen this before, but here's my 2004 Studio Plus.

I love it without an ounce of Standard envy <img src='http://forum.gibson.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/eusa_listen.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-"' />

I had a Les paul studio in wine red and it was a beast of a guitar, Since then I bought Custom 82 Silver burst, a 75 Standard in root beer and a Gibson RD Silver Burst Reissue.

I gave the studio to my son and he put betty page stickers all over it and now calls it his Betty.post-30594-060360100 1318508628_thumb.jpg

SDC11746.jpg

To report on Variations, this comes with a SHORT tennon toggle & is 50's wired on a Metal plate (Unlike my other 2 which are on circuit boards)

I see that short toggle. Interesting. I haven't opened the back panel of my Anniversary Flood. lol

Congratulations! I hope you two are happy together lol -Rod-
